This past weekend was the best of the summer. It was called the “3 days, 3 states, 3 great friends” weekend.
Friday night was a lazy night spent with Mark. Originally he had a golf tournament in Massachusetts and wasn’t going to be around, but after receiving 2 phone calls from him on my lunch, I somehow convinced him to come home and have a lazy evening with me.
We watched The Switch, which is my new favorite movie, and we loved it! If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. I would be okay with Jason Bateman hijacking my sperm donor and giving me a kid. Especially if he looked like the little boy from the movie.
I am in double love.
Then, we checked out Orange is the New Black. I had heard good things about it, so I mentioned it to M, and he was game. I pulled a Mark and ended up falling asleep during the 2nd and 3rd episode. I don’t think he was impressed at all. I love going out for dinner and drinks with M, but I missed our lazy Friday nights, so it was nice to get those back!
I woke up early on Saturday and set out for a 3.3 neighborhood run, before heading up to York to spend the day with my cousin Nikki, and my aunt and uncle on Short Sands. If you recall, I was in York last week for vacation, but on Long Sands, which are right next to each other.
I then headed back to my parents to have a late bbq with them, and I forced them to watch The Switch with me. Yes, new favorite movie!
Yesterday, I woke up at 5, went for a short 1 mile run to keep my streak alive, and then booked it to Boston to grab a train to New York City to spend the day with my favorite blend, Jen! Ahhhh it was freakin’ amazing to finally meet this awesome girl, who I’ve been obsessively talking to for a year.
I got home a little before midnight, so check back in tomorrow for the full NYC recap!
Overall, it was the perfect way to end my summer with some of my favorite people in the world.
How did you end your summer?!
