How is it that the weekend is already over? Mine was relaxing, and exhausting, and last-minute, and full of happiness.
My favorite kind of Friday nights revolve around sweatpants, a couch, and some good TV. Unfortunately, there’s never any good television on Friday nights. Instead, I watched Super Fun Night, one of my favorite new shows. It’s hilariously stupid, and I can’t stop laughing. I followed that up with watching pre-recorded events from the CrossFit Games. So motivating and informational! [Side Note: I didn't get to eat that banana because I accidentally squished it with my shoe].
I annihilated my legs Friday at CF with 100 pistol squats, and then again during Saturday am’s WOD, so walking the remainder of the day was a big issue. I relied on my foam roller to get around the house and in aiding me in bending over. Trying to sit on the toilet was the most difficult and painful experience all weekend.
I shouldn’t have gone to CrossFit that morning because I had a race that evening with my college girls, but I went anyways. Luckily the race we ran, The Cosmic Race, wasn’t timed, and was just a big party, so the 2.25 miles wasn’t that bad. Especially when you’re with the loves of your life and getting attacked with the colors of the rainbow.
The race was soooo much fun, and I’d easily do it again next year. There was a huge rave after the race, but we were kind of not into that, and hung out for a bit while it poured on us, before calling it a night and heading home.
Woke up. Couldn’t walk. Couldn’t squat. Woe is me. Stupid squats of all kinds had to go and shatter my legs. I hopped on the treadmill to loosen them up, and found that a light job actually helped. Even yesterday before the race, I went for a short walk/jog through the neighborhood to loosen my legs up since I hadn’t done any cardio in the morning.
The rest of my day was spent with a man friend. It was a great Sunday indeed.
