Sunday night I made a good mistake of staying up 2 hours past my bedtime talking to someone. As a result, I was over-tired and had an all-day headache. The side effects of not getting my necessary sleep. Was it worth it? Yes and no.
On my drive to my CrossFit box, I was cursing someone for how tired I was. I ran a mile warm-up before class started, and I decided I really love running around the box at 6:15 am because it’s pitch black out and I’m still sleeping so I don’t realize that I’m running in frigid temperatures.
The WOD kicked my butt. It didn’t sound or look difficult.
OTM (On The Minute) x 20
Aka 100 wall balls and 50 hindu push-ups.
On the odd minutes we did our 10 wall balls, and on the even minutes, we did hindu push-ups. 5 minutes in I was so over the workout. I’m pretty sure my face was beet red on the 3rd, 4th and 5th push-up in each set. It was so brutal that on my drive home, my legs and arms didn’t want to work, which is so safe for when you have to drive.
I snagged another book from Mat’s CrossFit library. I think Boone, his dog, got a hold of this one.
I am trying to eat as Paleo as possible, and each day/week I am trying to rid certain non-Paleo foods from my daily eats. I refuse to waste food, so I’m working my way through the few Greek yogurts I have.
One thing I won’t give up yet is peanut butter. I switched to the On-The-Go packs because it helps me keep my portions in check.
I don’t buy jars anymore because it was way too easy for me to overeat it. That’s what I was doing with sunbutter. 3 jars a week… It wasn’t healthy! During the week, I have one of the containers a day with an apple, and that’s it. I believe it’s equal to about 3 tbsp of pb, and that’s enough for me.
I only count my macros during the week, mainly because I’m up for a longer period of time. Weekends, I sleep in, and usually don’t have as big of an appetite, so instead of eating a certain number of macros, I eat when I’m hungry. I still try to track my meals on Spark People, but if I’m shy of my numbers, it doesn’t bother me. It works for me.
Veering away from food talk, and on to Halloween decorations that scare the crap out of you. A few weekends ago, I was running at the crack of dawn to get my run in before heading to NYC with my girls. I was still sleeping when I ran by this house, and this goblin creature thing scared the daylights out of me. Why is that necessary?
On the topic of Halloween, how cute is this little guy?
He’s a candy dish! My Mom got it for free when we were at the grocery store the other day because she bought 3 greeting cards. She bought them so I could have this guy. World’s Best Mom… especially because I’m making her keep it at her house because I don’t want candy in my apartment. She asked why I wanted it if I wasn’t going to take it, and I told her it was for my future house. I’m high maintenance.
And lastly, I’m SUPER excited because the CEO of my company is paying for me to attend the BlogWell conference in Boston next Tuesday to learn how big brands use social media. I’m geeking out because Reebok is going to be there for 1 of 8 presentations. Ahhhhhh! I’d bring my autograph book, but instead, I’ll just bring my business card. Reeeeeeeebok.. Ermergherd!!
