How To Snack The Right Way On Your Whole30 & A Giveaway

We are almost a week into the new year, which also might mean that you are almost a week into your Whole30, if you’re doing one. Ever since completing my latest Whole30 in December, I have found that my body responds better to 3 large meals and 1-2 small snacks.

In the beginning, it seems that a lot of folks focus on the foods that you can’t eat instead of focusing on all of the delicious foods that you are allowed to eat. I never found myself struggling to find a healthy snack, and today I’m here to show you some of my favorite Whole30 compliant snacks, along with a fun giveaway at the end of the post.

Whole30-Snack-Ideas-Pinterest

In the beginning, my typical snack would be a sliced banana with almond butter. Whenever I eat fruit, I almost always try to pair it with a healthy fat, such as nuts. I’m not an expert, but I once read that it’s important to pair a sugary fruit with a fat to balance out the sugar, and ever since then, I’ve stuck with it. Plus, I find the pairing of carbs and fat help keep me full longer than just a banana would!

whole30-snack-almond-butter-bananaWhen it comes to almond butter, make sure that it’s just made with almonds and salt. I love the Barney Butter, but sadly it has a non-compliant oil in it, so I stuck to the MaraNatha or Trader Joe’s almond butter.

whole30-snack-almond-butterThe one and only time on my Whole30 that I ate an apple. I warmed a sliced apple and topped it with almond butter and cinnamon. It was delicious, but my stomach hates raw apples, so this was a once and done snack for me. I also found that almond butter didn’t sit well with my stomach, so I cut almond butter out about halfway through my Whole30.

whole30-snack-apple-almond-butterApplesauce and almonds. This was a really random snack or pre-breakfast that I had one morning before a run. It worked.

whole30-snack-applesauce-almondsTHESE guys are the best! I typically had a trail mix packet around 4 pm during the weekdays to tide me over between lunch and dinner. I get these in bulk at BJ’s Wholesale, and they are 100% Whole30 compliant!

Whole30-Trail-Mix-SnackI’m one of those individuals who are oddly obsessed with slivered almonds, so I often would sprinkle some on top of a sliced banana. I like getting a bit of crunch with each bite!whole30-snack-banana-slivered-almondsMy favorite snack ever. I could eat roasted plantain chips all day long! I always pair these with a packet of almonds because I like a healthy fat to balance sugary fruit.whole30-snack-roasted-plantain-chipsLarabars, a delicious life saver of mine! These full-sized bars are amazing and good for when you’re in a time crunch.whole30-snack-larabarBut when you just need a little bit of food to tide you over for maybe an hour or less, the Larabar minis are your best friend. Even better, as a Larabar ambassador, I’m going to giveaway 2 prize packs of mini Larabars.

One winner will receive a package of Whole30 compliant Larabars, and that winner will be chosen from the comments, so in order to win that, just tell me in your comment that you’re currently on your Whole30, and a current struggle or anything about how it’s going so far.

whole30-snack-larabarThe second winner will win a package of non-Whole30 Larabars, in my two favorite flavors, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip & Peanut Butter Cookie. In your comment, tell me which you’d rather try more, the PB Cookie or the PB Chocolate Chip!

How You Like Dem’ {Big Slice} Apples? ++ Giveaway

Do you like apples? I love apples.

Well. My tastebuds LOVE apples, my stomach and digestive tract, don’t. It stinks. It’s like loving that delicious man who always makes you cry. Why, why, why?

Since I was a child, I have luckily also loved applesauce. My best friend was Evan when I was growing up in Vermont, and his parents raised Evan and his sister Claire in a very healthy manner. It’s the lifestyle that I hope to one day adopt for my future family. Evan’s Mom knew healthy balance, and it was something that I came to know as well, as I enjoyed probably thousands of breakfasts, lunches and dinners at their house.

One of her sides, which I have never been able to get out of my mind, is her homemade applesauce. Oh it was just heavenly! Ever since tasting her homemade applesauce, I have had a love affair with applesauce, so when I was selected to be on Big Slice’s campaign for their on-the-go pouches of slowly cooked slices of apples,  I got way too excited.

Big-Slice-Apples

I love warmed-up apples and I love applesauce, so a combination of the two, in decadent and fun flavors, ahhh!!!

Big-Slice-Apples

16 flavors, 3 product lines. Big Slice are made of wholesome ingredients, made with USA apples ONLY, non-GMO product verified, are gluten-free, and include whole pieces of fruit.

7 different flavor pouches make up their Pure Line, in which each recipe is made with pure fruit and spices gently blended together.

{Orange Ginger, Apricot, Blueberry Pomegranate, Natural, Lemon Berry, Chai & Cherry Vanilla}.

Big-Slice-ApplesThe Cherry Vanilla was amazing, and little cherries were a welcomed surprise in the mix!

Big-Slice-Apples

Their Fit Line is comprised of four different varieties promoting energy, power, balance, and beauty. {Banana Mango & Hemp Seed, Peach Green Tea & Aloe, Pineapple Passion Fruit & Fiber, and Raspberry Hibiscus & Green Coffee Extract}.

And lastly, their Luxe Line are made for indulging in those rich flavors that won’t leave you feeling guilty. {Peach Bellini, Cinnamon Candy, Boysenberry Chocolate, Caramel, and Cinnamon French Toast}.

Big-Slice-ApplesThese are great before a workout, as a mid-morning snack, after dinner when you just want a little bit of something to cure your sweet tooth, or really any dang time that you please!

Now here’s where Big Slice is sharing the love. One lucky Running on Peanut Butter reader will win a gift pack that includes 12 assorted Big Slice pouches as seen above, a tumbler, and a spork (for digging in with). Simply enter below through the Rafflecopter giveaway. The giveaway will run until Friday 12/18 11:59 pm, and I will announce the winner on Monday, 12/21!

I Sweat More Than The Average Human & Dove/Degree Giveaway

During the summer months when I lived at home, I would spend my weekend mornings running in the neighborhood. Hot days meant that I would sweat X10 more than normal. I sweat 5x more than the normal human being (thanks Dad), so really, I would be sweating 15x more than normal during my summer runs.

When I would enter the house after my runs, my Dad would always remind me that I smell. That or I would enter the kitchen and if I walked by someone, I would tell them to hold their breath.

I sweat. I sweat a lot. And when I sweat, I smell. The only saving grace aside from a shower is deodorant. I used to buy Dove’s specialty deodorant because it was the only deodorant that could combat my stench. Now, I rotate between Degree for women and for men. So when I was asked to participate in Dove & Degree’s #TryDry campaign, I was all in, especially because they even offered TEN Running on Peanut Butter readers to win the same gift pack that I received! Ho ho ho!

Unilever sent me 5 dry spray antiperspirants, which are their new product that goes on instantly dry, provides 48-hour of odor and wetness protection and are each formulated with unique product benefits {see below}.

TryDry

Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant: Goes on instantly dry and provides 48 hour odor and wetness protection with all the care of Dove, leaving underarms soft, smooth and residue free.

Dove Men+Care Dry Spray: Has a non-irritant formula to be tough on sweat, not on skin. Provides 48 hour odor and wetness protection along with Dove Men+Care’s signature ¼ moisturizing cream.

Degree Women Dry Spray Antiperspirant: Includes MOTIONSENSE® Technology which responds directly to your body movement to release extra protection the more you move.

Degree Men Dry Spray Antiperspirant: Includes MOTIONSENSE® Technology which responds directly to your body movement to release extra protection the more you move.

AXE Dry Spray Antiperspirant: Designed to help guys feel confidently fresh by offering a high voltage blend of premium fragrance notes.

TryDryDoveDegree

I carried around the Degree Women spray in my purse constantly. I would give myself a spray before the gym, after my shower, and sometimes before bed, but I usually still smelled approachable, so it wasn’t necessary.

TryDryDoveDegree

I love men’s deodorant, or more so how good men smell, so from time to time I do buy men’s deodorant. I gave these deodorants to my brother, except for the Dove spray because the smell was just so fresh and lovely that I wanted it for myself! Is that greedy?

Deodorant is so important to me because I never know just when I will bump into my future husband. Will it be at the gym? At Target? At the library? I have no idea where or when, so I always need to smell good so that I don’t scare him away.

As I mentioned above, 10 lucky readers will win the above pack, all you have to do to enter is leave a comment below telling anything about your sweat situation. Do you sweat a lot? Do you barely sweat? What scent do you like the best? Men or women’s deodorant? You have until Sunday 11:59 pm EST to enter, and I will announce the winners next week!

Why Living Alone is Awesome, New Favorite Dessert & Giveaway Winner

This whole living by myself thing is pretty flippin’ fantastic! I feel like I’ve grown up a tremendous amount in just a few short weeks, and while I definitely miss the family, it’s good to be on my own. Plus, I go home to do my laundry and plan dinners over there, like I did last night.

I went over after work and Dad grilled chicken that we topped salad with. It was good to sit down with them and chat about the week!

Reasons why I love living alone:

  • I can sleep in running shorts and a sports bra
  • I control everything 🙂
  • I can go to the bathroom with the door open
  • I can leave something on the counter and take care of it after work and not worry about annoying anyone
  • I have an ENTIRE FRIDGE to myself. {I <3 food}
  • I can do what I want, when I want, and don’t have to report to anyone
  • I have a place to call my own

Seriously though, I absolutely love that I can wander around in just shorts and a sports bra, especially in the morning when I’m getting ready for the gym. I will roll out of bed, through my workout capris on, stroll into the kitchen to prep my pre-workouts, and then go back to my bedroom to put a tank top on. I literally love this.

I also don’t even get bored after work when it’s just me. I thought it could be an issue, but I’ve really grown to enjoy my relaxing nights to myself. I’ve been filling my time binge listening to Serial, binge reading, and sometimes watching a movie when I’m too tired to read.

I finally found some pink salt the other night at Home Good’s. My ex got me hooked on it, and I finally found a single-girl sized jar for $2.99. While I was there I also randomly found Red Velvet Emulsion which I have been dying to try. It was $2.99 so I couldn’t pass it up!

image

Also found these beauties the same night. I CANNOT wait to try these! I have a feeling that if these are good, it could be a good evening snack to cure my sweet tooth! 1.5 g fat/ 11 g carbs/ 11 g protein.. Not bad at all!
image

New favorite evening dessert…. peanut butter, banana slices and light cool whip. Oh my gosh, this is so amazing! And now to be real. I will probably never eat this again because certain foods I am just too weak to keep around. After I measured this, I put the cool whip back in the freezer, and then went and ate about half of it after… just because it’s so good! I didn’t get mad at myself though. I simply dumped the rest down my sink and told myself that this is a food that I can’t keep in my apartment solely because it’s a food that I currently do not have self-control over. I didn’t even realize it until I bought the tub last night! Moments like this shouldn’t make you mad, instead, use it as a learning tool. 🙂peanut-butter

Instead of getting mad, I made sure to have a super hardcore workout yesterday morning, or the day after my love affair with cool whip. I did heaver shoulders and triceps after a 20 minute HIIT run, and it was awesome! It was the burn I needed…. but it left me so hangry all day long!

image

And another favorite thing about my apartment being 13 minutes from work… going home on lunch to enjoy my afternoon snack while reading a few chapters of my book. So heavenly!

Oh and if you made it this far, the winner of the Steve’s PaleoGoods Giveaway is…
a Rafflecopter giveaway

Congrats Kat! I have emailed you this morning, so check your email! Thank you all for entering and I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! 🙂

What is your favorite night-time snack/treat?

What are your weekend plans?

Pedicure, workout, dress fitting, girl’s day. So much fun!! 🙂

Steve’s PaleoGoods Giveaway!

Today is an exciting day on the blog front for me, well, more so exciting for you, since you have a chance to win a pretty awesome prize! Last month Steve’s PaleoGoods reached out to me to see if I would be interested in reviewing their products. Back when I did CrossFit, I had picked up a handful of their sampler items at the CrossFit Regionals and fell in love with the granola and ketchup I had bought, so I was more than excited when they also agreed to give one lucky winner some product as well!

Reasons why their products are amazing:

  • They keep it simple; freshly crafted paleo snacks
  • Handmade on site in small batches, using the best quality ingredients, as close to nature as possible.
  • Inspired by the craftsmanship and integrity of our ancestors, we produce them lovingly in our kitchen with care.

Steve’s PaleoGoods are famous for their delicious and healthy treats such as: Paleo Bars, Paleo Cereal, Paleo Jerky, Kits & more!

While I no longer eat strictly Paleo, I know that when I did, and still to this day, I always will try to find the healthiest option for a food that might not be healthy to begin with, especially granola, because let’s be real, granola is way too addicting!

When my package arrived, I opened it to find more products than I had expected!

Steves-Paleo-Goods

Finding a healthy granola is so important to me and eating their granola makes me feel like I’m still making healthy choices. The ingredients?… Raw Almonds, Shredded Coconut, Raw Pumpkin Seeds, Raw Walnuts, Raw Pecans, Sunflower Seeds, Coconut Oil, Honey, Cinnamon.

image

I loved it on top of plain greek yogurt! Other flavors include Pumpkin (hello Fall!), Banana Split (give me it now!), Tropical, Carrot Cake (what? I need), Dark Chocolate Espresso (drool!), Maple Bacon, Cranberry, and many more.

image

While I was traveling in Dallas, having a real meal was few and far between, so to tide me over during busy days, I relied on the beef jerky I received. I’m a girl that’s obsessed with jerky, so eating this was like heaven to me!

steves-paleo-goods

Another product I was so excited to see in my sampler bag? Their ketchup! I had bought a bottle of it last year at the Regional’s, and for a girl who is obsessed with ketchup on all things, this was one that I loved. I topped my burger with the good stuff. They carry an insanely large variety of sauces, including bbq sauce, salad dressings, coconut oil and also steak sauce!

image

But I think my all time favorite item I received in my pack was the dried strawberries, expect they weren’t dry. They were moist, chewy and bursting full of flavor. They reminded me of healthy fruit snacks, but on steroids! They carry tons of options for dried fruit, and I bet that they dried blueberries are especially good!

image

Now it’s time for one lucky Running on Peanut Butter reader to win a prize pack from Steve’s PaleoGoods! Act fast though because I’m running this for one day and will announce the winner Friday morning! Good luck! 🙂

Running Safety with Illumiseen

I loved my run several Sundays ago so much that I wanted to dedicate a post to pictures from that run and tie it into running safety!

Head’s Pond is the cutest little hidden gem in my town. It takes me about 15-20 minutes to get there, depending on the time of day and traffic. It’s off of a main road so cars are constantly flying by, but below the road, is a beautiful path that people run or walk their dogs on.

Heads-Pond

Most of the trail is gravel, and in the middle of the course you get views of Head’s Pond, which can sometimes be occupied by fishers or someone in a kayak or a canoe.

Heads-Pond

As you get a mile or so in, the pond disappears from view and you are on a more deserted path. If it were early in the morning or late in the evening, I would not want to be on this path alone, but during a weekend day where it’s more populated, there’s definitely a safe and peaceful feeling to it.

Heads-Pond

About 1.4 miles in, you literally hit a dead-end, unless you can run on water, which I can’t, so I stop here.
Heads-Pond-running-selfie

To take in this view.

Heads-Pond

On my run back towards the entrance, there are little side trails that can only fit one person and is overgrown with trees and bushes. Again, this isn’t a safe option when you’re alone, butttt sometimes I take it every now and then when I’m alone.

Heads-Pond

There are little inlets several yards down the trail which are open and more safe for breaks and photo-ops, but honestly, this is definitely a trail to be with someone on a walk or a run during the evening hours.Heads-Pond-running-selfie

Choosing the right area or trail for your run is the first step to running safety. Once you decide where you are going to run, then you need to determine what to carry with you, which can vary based on the time of day. It’s always important to carry ID of some kind on you. Whether you stuff your license in your running belt, slip it between your phone and case, or wear an ID bracelet, you need to do something to let someone know who you are in case of an emergency!

I have a bracelet ID that I will wear and I also typically carry my phone with me. Most of my outdoor runs are in my neighborhood, so carrying my phone is convenient in case I need to call family or a neighbor for assistance. Knock on wood that I don’t need to do this! I’ve only done it once because I had a pair of shoes that were causing me to bleed.

And one of THE most important safety tips for runner’s is to run when it’s light out, and when it’s not, to always make sure to run with a head lamp, a sensor light clip for your pants or shoes, reflective clothing, or an LED reflective belt, like the one that Illumiseen sent me. I love being the center of attention, and this belt makes that happen!

Illumiseen-LED-belt

I’m not quite sure how I would feel about running with a light on my head, so clipping this around my waist is ideal for me, especially since I am used to that with my fuel belt.

Illumiseen-LED-belt

Even from a distance and jumping around, you are still extremely visible!

Illumiseen-LED-belt

Remember whether you carry ID, wear a reflective light or bring your phone with you, make sure to always tell someone where you’ll be running, how long they might expect you to be gone for, and any additional information you find fitting!

What’s your #1 running safety tip?

*Illumiseen provided me with an LED Reflective belt free of charge. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

And on to catching you guys up from this week. Easter candy. To hell with it all. Seriously whyyyyy all the candy. And by that I mean why did I make myself eat so much Tuesday and Wednesday. I did SO good at Easter without touching sweets, and then I went crazy as if candy would never be available ever again.

Candy overload for pre-workout. I only did this on Tuesday. I still prefer my Larabars over the candy.

I wanted sugar and energy because Tuesday was a back/bicep day.

I’ve seen Thin Slim Foods on social media sites for several weeks now {oh hey Ashley}, and I bit the bullet last week and ordered the plain and cinnamon bagels. LOVE these! They have a lot less carbs and have protein in them, and while they obviously aren’t as good as real bagels, they are such a great alternative. I didn’t feel like I was eating a bagel replacement, and I loved how chewy it was!

On Wednesday night I got to go visit Lindze, Mike, Lucas and Brinkley for a little quality time. Look at my little god-daughter. 🙂 She has the cutest cheeks ever!

In between baby cuddles, I made sure to pay attention to my #1 man, Lucas. Who knew such joy could be had in pushing trucks back and forth. We just sat like this for a handful of minutes pushing trucks to one another.

It’s the little things in life. Lucas painted this for me before I came over. Little things like this make my heart melt. <3image

Yesterday at the gym all I wanted to do was runrunrun. And it was a fail. After 2.5 miles I just didn’t have it in me. I was tired, unfocused and just felt so blah from the candy overload. Instead, I decided to do a little bit of ab work and about 10 minutes of stretching before heading to work. I am smiling because I’m done that crappy run. selfieCrappy run =  next run is a good run. Just a motto I live by as a runner. That and never give up on the bad runs. We can’t be perfect in life and our workouts every day. Just take the less than perfect days to motivate you to be better the next day or workout.

Does anyone else take pictures of food prices to text a parent/significant other/friend to ask if the price is reasonable? In case you were wondering, this price is cheap in my area! I was smart when I said no to the $3.14 cauliflower. Yes, 15 cents is 15 cents.

Thursday night I had big plans to make protein pancakes, but while I was prepping turkey and broccoli for Friday’s lunch/the weekend, I thought with all of the candy I’ve been eating, that this would be a healthier choice.. (even though the pancakes aren’t unhealthy). Well this meal totally disappointed me. Should have just made the dang pancakes!turkey-broccoliEnded Thursday night after cooking & laundry & blog work with fresh nails and Grey’s Anatomy!

How Tracking My Runs Is Helping Me Improve + Giveaway

Hey guys & happy Tuesday! Hopefully you are all slowly easing out of the candy coma and feeling back to normal and crushing your workouts!

Today I have one of my favorite giveaways, and it’s not even food or clothing related! This is for any athlete, and yes, if you workout you are an athlete. If you lift weights, do CrossFit, or run, then this workout is for you!

I introduce to you Journal Menu! When I used to CrossFit regularly, I had a log book that I used to track all of me workouts, lifts, and progress. I loved it, and now that I’m focusing more on running and lifting at a regular gym, I haven’t been tracking any of my workouts. So when Erica of Journal Menu reached out and asked if I would review the book geared towards runners, I was all in. Seriously, so excited for this. Even cooler, you get to customize the front and back cover!

Erica gave me cover ideas to use, but said if I found an image of my own that I wanted to use, I could. I wanted one that would motivate me, so I chose an image of a running path that I took when I was spending time in southern California years ago, and found a quote that would motivate me to get out the door.

JournalMenu

Journaling improves your memory, your consistency and your outlook on life, because you can go back and review why it’s all going so great, or figure out what’s been going wrong.

JournalMenu

The journal starts with pages for you to write your goals, how you will achieve them, body measurements, and mobility exercises to strengthen your body. It then gets into race planning and tracking your races. What a great idea!

JournalMenu

And then what I’m most interested in, the different training programs for races. 5k, 1/2 marathon and full marathon training programs are all in here.

JournalMenu

The program provides you with the proper workouts/runs, along with a page right next to it to track your training! I am so using this once my 1/2 marathon training begins!

JournalMenu

After the goal pages, measurement pages, and training programs, you get into the meat of the training book. Here is where you get to track all of your runs, or WODs if you choose a journal geared towards CrossFit!

JournalMenu

Since starting using my Journal Menu to track my runs, I’ve noticed that I’ve actually improved my runs. From being able to hold a longer tempo run, to increasing my overall speed on miles, this run tracker has only brought me positive workouts.

And now one lucky reader can win a customized training book of their own, whether it’s a running journal or a CrossFit journal, it’s your choice! The giveaway will end Thursday night, and I will announce the winner Friday morning!

Since I have a race on Sunday, I decided to get my long run in today! This is “long” for me as I build up my mileage. 4 miles this morning while watching CSI on my treadmill at the gym. All I wanted was a shower after this. I thought the shower would feel amazing, that was until I realized I chaffed on my lower back, and then that shower wasn’t as pleasurable as I had hoped it to be. Ya win some and ya lose some!

I’m pretty sure you are on this blog because you love working out and peanut butter, so I thought I would show you some of my favorite workout products or clothing. These are staples in my life!

Nike Filament Dri-Fit Running Capris

LOVE these running capris! For Christmas, my brother and SIL bought me a pair of Nike running capris, but I am so short that they were basically high water pants on me. I ended up returning them at Dick’s Sporting Goods and found these Nike running capris instead. Even better that they were $48, which I think is pretty cheap for a quality pair of running capris! I loved these so much that I asked for another pair for my birthday, and what do you know, my parents delivered! So now I own 2 black pairs of these, but when you find a pair that fits perfectly for your requirements, I think it’s best to stick with it. Maybe next I’ll get a little bit crazy and buy a navy blue pair!

Bombas Socks

I’ve talked about these socks before, but I really do love Bombas socks. Again, I asked for 3 pairs for my birthday, and I actually had to tell my Mom that I really wanted these, because we all know that socks for a gift aren’t that exciting. Hey, now I have 5 pairs, so I don’t have to let a pair air dry after a run so I can wear them again before I do a load of wash. #TMI?

Under Armour Fly Fast Cap

Under Armour running hats are where it’s at. I own 3 of these now, and yes, I do wear a hat twice before washing it. I just let the sweat dry and throw it on the next day. Gross but practical. Anyways, these hats are awesome because they fit my ginormous head (thanks Dad!). I’ve tried Nike and Brooks hats, and those are just too small for this big head of mine. I once bought a Brooks running hat at my local running store, Runner’s Alley, and I had to return it because when I put it on at home, I looked like the biggest dweeb that stepped foot in my house.

UA-Fly-Fast-Cap

… I certainly fly when I wear this. 🙂 I have this in 3 colors. All black is my fav!

Blender Bottle ProStak

Oh this little guy is a slice of heaven! I received this from a special person for my birthday and I am absolutely obsessed with it. Best shaker bottle I’ve ever owned! It has add ons, which you can store vitamins, pre-workout, protein powder, anything! You can choose to twist 1, 2 or none of the add-ons to the main bottle, depending on your workout and day. I have the ProStak in a blue top and clear bottle. Recommend it!

My Secret Weapon for Running & Compression Sock Giveaway! {SLS3}

With the weather getting nice (sort of), it’s time for me to start narrowing in on races that I want to run this spring, summer and fall. I have my first race of the year this Sunday, and with that means more grueling training runs, smarter eating, and getting quality sleep so I can continually improve.

During the winter months I was focused on weight lifting with easy 2 mile runs, but within the past month, I have focused in on making my runs quality. Instead of always doing easy runs, I’m challenging myself with tempo runs, HIIT, and building up my “long run,” while still lifting 3 days a week.

While things such as nutrition, sleep and mobility are major factors in recovery and progress, my secret weapon are compression socks. I’ve only worn the full marathon compression socks, so when SL3S reached out to me asking if I would review their compression butterfly sleeve, I couldn’t say no!

I had never heard of SLS3, so when a lesser-known to me company reaches out, I always find joy in learning about a new company and informing others of them as well. It’s even better when the company asks if they can give a pair of compression socks or sleeves to one lucky Running on Peanut Butter fan!

SLS3-compression-socks

I want those black ones above. BADLY! ^

One of the things I loved instantly about SLS3 were the colors they offered their compression socks/sleeves in. Purple, pink, light blue, black, hello!!!! If we want to get more technical, Azure, Hibiscus, Violet, Black. Black, there’s just no pretty name for you!

I already have a pair of pink compression socks, so I chose violet, since that’s one of my favorite colors.

SLS3-butterfly-compression

I love these sleeves! I sleep in them, I wear them to work, and I lounge around in them, especially after a run or the night before a harder scheduled run. I also loved that my feet didn’t feel suffocated. If I sleep in full compression socks, I will wake up in the middle of the night and literally pull those things off as fast as I can because I feel claustrophobic.  <–anyone else.. am I the only weird one??

SLS3-butterfly-compression-socks

These sleeves really are fabulous. They boost bloodflow by about 34%, and I love feeling my calves get all tingly from the blood flow. THAT’S how I know these work. It’s a calming sensation almost. I can knock out a tough run in the morning, and then go sit at work while wearing these under my jeans and know that the circulation improvements are helping my body eliminate lactic acid, and ultimately “leads to less soft tissue damage and less sore muscles.”

I will take it! And so will one of you! I’m keeping this giveaway open today, tomorrow and Thursday. The giveaway will close at midnight Thurs/Friday, and I will announce the winner Friday morning at 9 am! Good luck my running friends! 🙂
