When I went to bed on Monday night, my body felt really good. It didn’t feel overly sore or fatigued, and I went to bed knowing that I was going to have a really good strength workout Tuesday morning. Well, when I woke up yesterday morning, my body was s-o-r-e! I wasn’t sure what I was going to do at the gym, but I threw my workout clothes on, and got ready.
When I got to the gym, my original game plan was to do 20 minutes of HIIT on the treadmill, followed by logging time on the stairmaster. Well, the girl on my treadmill to my right immediately started sprinting, and just seeing her out of the corner of my eye doing her own HIIT made me exhausted. Instead, I listened to my body and made it an active rest day. I started with a half mile walk, ran 2 very slow miles, and ended with walking for 2 miles. I covered a total of 4.5 miles on the treadmill, and the light cardio really made my body feel better. It wasn’t too much, but it was enough!
Breakfast was my new go-to breakfast of banana oatmeal with peanut butter. I just use liquid banana drops to give it the banana taste, and it is out of this world amazing!
I worked through the late morning and early afternoon, before heading to my parent’s late afternoon to pick up a package. Woo!! Here’s to more binge watching evenings!
After work, I headed home, dropped my belongings off, and headed to the mall to grab protein bars for the Bahamas! Why am I looking forward to these bars almost as much as I’m excited for the beach, ha?!
The rest of my night was spent setting the fire alarm off, which my landlord said was impossible, blogging, reading, and watching an episode of White Collar!
