What a fun Memorial Day weekend!
I started my weekend off with a night out in the city with Marko. We started where else but The Farm, where we ordered beers and apps. Fried pickles for him and spinach and artichoke dip for me.
After 4 beers, I made a bet for us to get the male and female bartenders numbers. Turns out, I have more charm than he does, because while Mark got a fake number, I actually got the real thing.
My girlfriend Danielle made me text the number Saturday night, and it turns out it was actually him. Whenever Lindsay and I go to The Farm, I always make googly eyes at him, so it was awesome.
After 3 hours, we headed outside to torrential downpours.
I was in a white v-neck, and Mark and the 2 guys outside put up a fight when I asked Mark to run to my car to grab my rain coat.
Thankfully, Mark manned up and actually picked me up curbside and drove us to JW’s, where we ordered more beers. I’m too old to participate in a wet t-shirt contest.
And then Mark thought it was funny to nab my phone while I was texting Lindsay and have a little fun.
Poor Lindsay. I actually told Mark to throw in an emoji to win her over again. Around 10:30, after Mark earned his dollar, we called it a night at the bars.
We then proceeded to order a sushi boat, which we enjoyed on the couch while watching Mad Men and Rescue Me. This is reason #1 why we didn’t work out as a couple. Mark’s idea of dessert is sushi, while mine is 3 pounds of fro-yo. We actually argued over this topic over beer #2.
The next morning, my new running shoes FINALLY arrived. I had been eyeing these bad boys for 2 months, and was so excited when they arrived.
Only problem was that one shoe was a size 6.5 and the other was an 8.5. Finish Line apparently thought I had one midget foot and one regular sized foot.
Mark and every one and their mothers thought this was hilarious. To drown my sorrows, Mark treated me to brunch at Firefly, which Mark has been dying to go to since you can make your own bloody mary’s there. He loaded his up with green beans, wasabi, horseradish, pickles and jalapeños. Gag.
I ordered my go to brunch meal. A parfait with toast. If I can’t order a loaded parfait at brunch, I swap it for scrambled eggs. I literally won’t get anything besides those meals.
So amazing. We didn’t leave our booth for 2 1/2 hours because we can never shut up when we go out.
If you are absolutely confused about our friendship, please refer to Barney and Robin’s relationship from How I Met Your Mother. We are Season 6. That is us. Perfectly.
The rest of my weekend included attending my girl, Amber’s wedding Saturday night. That was SO much fun and deserves a post of it’s own.
P.S, you still have time to enter the Artisana Nut Butter Giveaway, I will pick a winner tomorrow, Monday, at 5 pm EST. The winner will be announced Tuesday! Good luck!
P.S.S What’s your ideal dessert?
P.S.S.S. Have you ever ordered a pair of shoes and received 2 different sizes?
