It’s Monday and I’m lying in my fluffy bed and not in the office. Life is good and I’m exhausted. This entire weekend has been a whirlwind and nonstop.
I started my Saturday with a great 3.5 mile run along the river.
The views were great, and my phone didn’t die at the start of my run, so I was a happy camper.
After showering and grabbing lunch, Ryan, Chelsey and I went to go practice our archery skills. We’re hoping to get cast in the 3rd Hunger Games movie, so hopefully our practice paid off. 😉
Ryan and Chelsey came here last year with several of our mutual friends and had a really great time, but this was my first time since going to camp as a kid, what, like 11+ years ago.I was pretty proud of myself for how well I did at “arching?” Is that what you call it?
After awhile though my ADD kicked in and I was ready to bounce. Once our hour was up, we headed home and watched a little TV while playing Scattegories.
At 5 I packed my bags and headed down to Philly for the night to spend the evening with my friend Pat. Pat was roommates with my friend Viss back in Boston, before moving to Philly for law school, and I actually met Pat at Viss’ wedding on the Cape this past summer (he’s the one with the ginormous green glasses).
Pat and I had plans to go out for dinner and then grab drinks the rest of the night, but before that started, I received a little tour. We chatted for a bit before putting our name in at Cantina Dos Segundos. We had a 40 minute wait, so Pat took me to the top of the parking garage at a grocery store down the road. The sun had just started to set, and he wanted to show me the beautiful view of the skyline.
This picture doesn’t even do it justice, and I’m so glad that Pat took me here to show this to me! We still had some time to kill, so after several minutes on the rooftop, we headed back to his place for a quick beer before grabbing our table.
We were both extremely thrilled when the chips and salsa were brought to our table, and we quickly devoured 2 bowls while catching up. We both scarfed down tacos; steak for him and shrimp for me. We overdid it on the chips and salsa, so we both left one lone taco on our plate.
After dinner, we headed downtown to meet up with his friend Matt from college.
We had beers while chatting, watching a little March Madness, and then eventually I fell asleep while they played intense games of ping-pong.
Pat and I stayed up wayyyy past our bedtime, I’m talking like 2:30/3 am, but it was great to catch up with him, and I didn’t know when I’d see him again, so I took advantage of my time with him. Plus, I’ve always thought he looked a little like Bradley Cooper, so it was a no-brainer to avoid bed time, right?
Since I had a busy Sunday, I hit the road a little after 9, to make the 6 hour drive home. I drove 6 hours home on 5 hours of sleep, and only after 20 minutes of getting home, I went for a 4 mile run, nonstop. This never happens where I don’t need to stop, and I even forgot to use my inhaler. After my run and finally an hour to relax, my roomies and I headed down the street to go drool over Kip Moore and his amazing muscles and booty. That, however, deserves a post of its’ own.
