Yesterday I had the appetite of a beast, but I guess that’s what you get when you run 4 miles and follow it up with Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred workout… and then complete this workout on your lunch:
15 minutes on the elliptical followed by 3 sets of:
- 5 minutes of bike sprints
- 25 kettlebell swings
- 25 kettlebell goblet squats
- 25 standing kettlebell side crunches – each side
I proceeded to eat everything in sight, including:
Banana Chobani with real naner chunks and PB2 sprinkled in. Oh heavens!
An Amy’s veggie burger on Rudi’s GF bread with leftover roasted veggies. This meal is a total gas trigger, and subsequently I ate it before my lunch workout. Luckily I didn’t get all farty on the gym goers.
Another Quest Bar (recycled photo – was too hungry to stop eating for a photo-op).
After work I quickly demolished a bowl of pb&j proatmeal. This hit the spot and was the perfect fuel for a girl’s night with my best friend, Jen. We went to the Merrimack Premium Outlets in hopes of finding work and spring clothes. I kept my wallet closed since I just took a big hit with my car the other day, but Jenny did good at Banana Republic and J.Crew.
Jen’s favorite saying last night was, “I just love Banana.” Who doesn’t? I love Jenny and with the Spring weather finally here, our weekly tennis gossip matches can begin again. Our first tennis date is going to be next week, I’m so excited! Every season I keep telling Jenny that I’ll buy a new racket because mine’s a child’s racket that I’ve had since I was 10, and the grip is so worn that my hand always turns black. I think after 2 years of telling her I’m buying a new one, that I’ll finally break down and get one this weekend. Gotta start the new season off stylin’!
Waking up this morning at 5 was awfully difficult. For starters, I forgot to use my inhaler, which worried me for my run. Oddly enough, with a little Kip Moore blasting through my one working ear bud, I easily settled into my run. At 3 miles, I told myself just make it to 4. And I kept going and didn’t need to stop. At 4 miles, I told myself, just push it to 4.5, but once I made it there, I wanted to push myself to 5 miles.
I ran 5 miles without stopping once. Without my inhaler. This never happens. And when I say never, I mean it. I’ve never run that far without stopping once. It just shows that my hard work is really paying off and my running is getting stronger. I’m so freakin’ proud of myself and am patting myself on my back while writing this. After my run, I went home and completed day 4 of the 30 Day Shred, and ooo baby my upper body and core sure is feeling the workout! I’ve been a fan of the 30 Day Shred since 2010 when I bought it my senior year of college. I saw amazing results that time, and I can already feel my results coming.
I demolished half a grapefruit and another bowl of pb&j banana proats after the workout.
This was a bowl of soupy goodness, thanks to the use of PB2 instead of the real deal.
No gym session today on my lunch. Instead, I plan on driving the 8 minutes to my apartment and watching TV. What a slug. After work I’m heading home to go for a walk with Momma Dukes and Skipper-Dudes. My Mom and I used to always take evening walks in our neighborhood during the Spring and Summer, so I’m excited to start those back up since we slacked last year.. aka I spent my nights with my at-the-time-darling-boyfriend. Opps, I was young and in love.
Put yo’ walking shoes on Momma!
