Yesterday, for the first time in 3 weeks, I was finally able to make it to both the Express Body Pump and Kickboxing classes. The BP class goes by way too quickly, and the kickboxing goes by way too slowly. It was brutal.
When I got home, I continued to make a dent in the 20 pounds of shredded chicken I have by making a shredded chicken taco salad bowl. My bro and future SIL bought me a set of those cute bowls for a house-warming gift. Okay, my SIL bought them for me. 😉
I then headed to my parents because I needed to complete a task on their computer. I didn’t have any luck, so instead, Kip and I enjoyed some peanut butter Puffins.
On my drive back to my apartment, I got stuck in a torrential downpour.
I’m an awful person because last night, every time I drove past a huge pond on the side of the street, I wanted someone to walk by so I could drench them. Then I saw this teenager who was soaking wet and I felt bad because I think someone beat me to it. I wish I could have given him a towel and cuddled him until he was dry.
To stop being so awful and to be nice, I’ve got a little giveaway for you nut butter lovers!
Last week I came home from work to find a package from Artisana Organic Foods, a company known for their organic raw nut and seed butters.
Their nut butters are certified organic and kosher, peanut-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free. The butters are non GMO, high in antioxidants and a great source of protein.
I received a package that contained 7 nut butters. 5 of these were Superfood nut butters, while the other 2 were walnut and almond butters.
The 5 Superfood butters include:
- Acai Berry
- Berry Antioxidant
- Blue Algae
- Goji & Milk Thistle
- Marine Phytoplankton.
I immediately tried the Berry Antioxidant, and was pleasantly surprised when it almost had a chocolately flavor. I squeezed the packet into a bowl of banana oatmeal.
The nut butter was a nice change from the typical peanut butter add-in, but I have to say, nothing can beat pb oatmeal.
I also tried the Blue Algae nut butter in a banana yogurt, which was a nice change on the yogurt front. My jaw definitely dropped when I saw the murky blue-green butter come oozing out of the packet.
This morning, as the 2nd part to my breakfast, I topped a piece of whole wheat bread with the Acai Berry, banana slices and a sprinkle of chia seeds.
And, oh my goshhhhh. Best flavor yet!!
Artisana has generously agreed to give one lucky Running on PB reader a gift pack of Super Foods (1 of each flavor)!
