Happy Wednesday to all of my friends! Did you have a good Monday & Tuesday, or did you have an extreme case of the Monday blues? My Monday was pretty fantastic, and since I haven’t done a post like this in awhile, I thought today would be a great day for a high tide vs. low tide post. High tides are the positives of the day, while a low tide would be something not so good that happened. Thankfully, my low tides involved me being dramatic, so all in all, it turned out to be a good Monday, with a rougher Tuesday!
Monday High Tide
Being back at the gym with the normal weekday crowd. Whenever I travel, I’m almost positive that I miss the gym more than I miss my own bed! I’m the type who loves having a routine, so this was the perfect way to start my Monday! I walked for 6 minutes while talking to Ashley, who was waiting to see if my 2 gym crushes would show up so that she could see who they were, before I jogged for 10 minutes as my warm-up. After that, I completed a back and mini shoulder workout that left me feeling strong!
Monday Low Tide
Sadly, said gym crushes were no-shows at the gym. I’m on a mission to talk to one of them, and I was all ready to talk to him today, and of course he didn’t show up. Dramatic low-tide, I know.
Monday High Tide
Leaving Target with only items that were on my list and that I needed. I’ve started a new budget and a new method of spending my money that should hopefully be very beneficial for me. I’ve always used my credit card to earn my reward points, and then paying it off, but all too easily I’ve bought more than I need. From here on out, I will only be using my debit card for my purchases, and hopefully the fact that I’m using my money in real-time will encourage me to put less items in my shopping cart, both online and in-store. Those reward points are pretty, but not when I buy things that I don’t have a need for!
I started my morning off with a wonderful shoulder workout and attempted to smile at one of my gym crushes. Now I say that I attempted a smile because I think it was a closed mouth smile, and he is so tall, that I think I smiled at his chest, which I mean, is something to smile about!
I was not able to do another round of the Whole30 as I had planned to for the month of January due to work travel, so while I’ve kept mostly to chicken, lean beef, loads of veggies, fruit and nuts, I’ve begun testing out oatmeal, and it appears that my stomach can handle it! I grabbed a container of the quick steel-cut oats, and I love it! I’ve always preferred the taste of steel-cut over old-fashioned oats, but I never had the time to make steel-cut on the stove top, so this version is perfect!
I pointed out gym crush #2 of mine to Ashley and she informed me that after 4 months of drooling, said crush is engaged. Oh I’m sorry, but how dare you be in love already! Rude! Did I say that you could be engaged? Thank goodness I have more than 1 crush at the gym, haha!
In all of my years of making shakes, I have never once put in more than allotted, but with this extra-high top, well, I screwed myself over.
I don’t feel right ending on a low-tide, so in an effort to think of something, while I was in Orlando last week, Millennium Running, my local running race event company opened up 500 extra bibs for the Snowflake Shuffle. This race sells out every year in hours because you get a sweatshirt as swag (if you read “as swag” as “ass swag,” you’re not alone. I did as well during proofing), so I was able to snag an extra bib, and I get this friggen AWESOME sweatshirt! The race is this Sunday, and race #2 of January for me, and because of this, I’m counting this as my February race for money purposes. Their only February race is a Tuesday night around 7, and that doesn’t sound fun, so my rules means that 2 January races = Jan & Feb races complete. 🙂
