Happy Thursday. I can’t move my body. Our WOD on Wednesday morning left me on the ground and barely able to push myself up once it was over.
We did a benchmark WOD called “Chelsea,” and it was an “Every Minute on the Minute” workout. In each minute, we had to complete:
- 5 ring rows
- 10 box push-ups
- 15 air squats
I started the first 2 minutes/rounds with push-ups, then went to modified push-ups, before settling in with box push-ups. It was crazy how little rest you had in each minute/round. The beginning minutes I had about 9 seconds to rest before the next minute started, but by the end, I had about 3 seconds to rest.
Basically, if you failed to complete the moves in that minute, then you were done. You could catch your breath and then continue the workout however you wanted, but until you couldn’t go any longer, you battled through it. In the 6:30 am class, I was the last one standing. People tapped out at the 7, 9, 11 and 12 minute mark, but I made it through 17 rounds, and then 5 ring rows and 2 push ups before I called time. The force on my throat during the push-ups made me want to throw up, and my arms just couldn’t handle it any longer.
That is equal to: 90 ring rows, 172 box push-ups, & 255 air squats. In 17 minutes.
I’m so happy with my results, and glad I stopped when I knew I couldn’t go any longer. Sara went to the 12:30 class and completed all 30 minutes/rounds. I love that girl! She’s such an inspiration to me and I’m so glad she got me to come into a class many moons ago.
After CrossFit, I headed back to my apartment to get ready for work. I was greeted by this. I just can’t even. I am the biggest clean freak and need an empty sink/drying rack. I couldn’t even wash my protein shake cup because 1) the sink was full 2) there was nowhere to put it when clean.
On my lunch hour I headed to the outlets so I could browse Reebok. I have several things on my Christmas list from Reebok, so I headed there to get sizes for my Mom.
Reebok + Christmas decorations = paradise.
There’s never a bad day to remind yourself that you’re enough. 🙂
Crinkle-cut carrots are my absolute favorite. I eat half of them first and the second half at the end. These are actually my favorite part of Thanksgiving. I feel really weird just admitting that.
