Are you ready for a pink overload? Who am I kidding, is there even such a thing?!
Yesterday was a great day, aside from the headache that rocked me from noon until bed time at 10 pm.
Aside from the intense pain I was in, Monday was good to me. I started my morning off with a 4 mile neighborhood run, and I’m excited because I kicked serious booty on that run. I’ve been trying extremely hard to bust out negative splits every run, and I accomplished it on Monday!
It’s hard for me to keep it slow during the first mile, but I did it, and limited any necessary walking breaks. (Runner’s asthma can suck it. Some days it’s really bad). I found that the best thing for me was to concentrate on the pavement 3-4 feet in front of me, and not what was ahead of me. That made my run easier and more manageable. Always focus on your current mile, not the remaining miles!
Anywhooooo, after work, I came home to a bright and lovely delivery from PRO Compression!
I’ve been wearing these non-stop since Monday. I even wore them while sipping hot lemon water from the best mug ever. Look at how awkwardly adorable I was. With my cat Goldie, RIP little man. Love that little smoosh.
In that photo, I was reading a Rugrats book and drawing the scene from that current page. Yes, I was a hardcore drawer when I was a runt. Please tell me you were just as cool as I was!
Tuesday mornings run wasn’t cool. I had planned on running in the neighborhood, but I woke up to rain, which I honestly thought was my AC dripping water down below. There were torrential downpours, so I was stuck on my parents’ treadmill, which is awful to run on. It’s brand new, but it just never gives me a good run. I swear there are a set of treadmills at the gym that I refuse to use because they make me feel like my legs are dead weight. One row of treadmills, however, I fly on.
So, the run sucked, and I only went for 3.5 miles. I had enough of it. The day didn’t get any better either.
Instead of peanut butter, I put almond butter on my oatmeal, and it was awful. Such a letdown.
I love almond butter, but it didn’t melt and ooze into every spoonful like my beloved peanut butter always does. I will never cheat on peanut butter again. I wanted to yell redo so badly.
Oh look at that. I rocked my new socks with clogs at work yesterday.
The clogs were a mistake. Never wear clogs in torrential downpours. Sadly, I only had running shoes and flippys at my parents, so clogs were my only choice.
After work, I headed up to Concord to hang out with my cousin, Nikki. We used to always get together after work but then I switched jobs and her schedule got even busier (she’s the athletic director at a private school), and those week day hangouts vanished. Now that she has summer hours, we are trying to be better about getting these hangouts in. Only seeing her at family events or at the gym is not acceptable.
Nikki made dinner, and we ate it with my Aunt & Uncle while watching several episodes of Kelly & Michael.
Their dog Bailey cracked me up when she put her paw up on Nikki’s arm rest. Apparently she likes when you play with her paws.
Girl is a diva!
I had to work late last night, so it was nice to be able to spend some quality time with my favorites. A simple night on the couch with people I love is how I prefer to end a busy day.
Oh, and Nikki and I are planning a vacation for the Fall… ekkks!! 🙂
