Happy long weekend! Boy do I have some big things to update you guys on! My Friday started off pretty rough, as I battled dizziness and an all-day nausea feeling. You know when you take vitamins on an empty stomach and the next 30 minutes are filled with feelings of wanting to vomit? That was my entire day, and by 4 pm, I couldn’t even look at my computer or phone without wanting to curl in a ball and jab pencils and pens in my eyes.
Aside from not feeling well, my Friday had 3 great things happen.
- I fell in love with Body Pump!
I’ve been so intimated by this class ever since joining in July, that I’ve put it off for that long. Most blogs and articles I read mentioned that you wouldn’t like your first class and to give it a few sessions before you decided you hate it. Jen and I know the instructor Eve through her Spinning and R.I.P.P.E.D classes, so she assured us we’d be fine. The class was SO much fun, and there was only one move I failed miserably at. My only issue with the class is that it’s not a high burner class. In an hour I burned 250 calories, so this is a class that wouldn’t work for a lunch time workout. It’d be perfect after work or on the weekends when I have more time to get a cardio warm-up and cardio workout after the class to get a max burn.
2. This girl is moving out. We got an apartment!
I don’t think I mentioned this on the blog the other day, but on Wednesday, Allie, Kris and I checked out a newly refurbished apartment. We didn’t want to fall in love with it because it was an apartment (we wanted a house for our budget), but it was absolutely gorgeous, and I honestly couldn’t bear living a life that didn’t include cooking in the kitchen.
Granite countertops, oak cabinets and new appliances.
Please, I’m dying over it. I’m going to eat, sleep, play, watch TV, set up a treadmill, get married, and give birth in this kitchen.
One of my favorite parts about the kitchen is the open concept with the island counter in the dining room.
We move in March 15th, but we’ve already started going crazy on Pinterest and window shopping stores. I can’t wait!
3. My Running on Peanut Butter business cards came in!
Last weekend I had my designer create a double-sided business card for the blog that I could hand out at future events to start networking and making contacts.
These beauties arrived last night, and I couldn’t be happier with the final outcome!
Today has been off to a relaxing start.
I lounged on the couch this morning and enjoyed several episodes of Cougar Town while I let my pb2&j yogurt settle and my body wake up before I tackled a 4 mile run. I was pretty busy yesterday evening and didn’t have time to pick up my inhaler at the drug store, so this morning I had to run without the extra help. It wasn’t as bad as usual, so I might try to train my body to stop being so dependent on the damn thing. That and I’m pinching pennies.
After my run, I enjoyed a PB2 chocolate protein pudding with jimmies. I’m trying to get rid of a chocolate protein powder I’m not a fan of, so my trick is mixing half the chocolate with half vanilla protein powder. It was a little watery, and since I wanted jimmies, I thickened it up with a pinch of Xantham Gum, which gave it a great pudding consistency.
Now it’s off to do a little future apartment shopping with my Momma. There goes my tax refund! 😉
