This weekend taught me that I am getting old.
Friday was a fun day work-wise. My division headed up to York Beach for a company “bonding” day, at one of our consultants’ beach houses.
Continental breakfast was served from 9-10:30, and then it was time for a fun scavenger hunt that took us throughout the downtown area. Per head honcho requests, pictures of the day aren’t allowed to be externally shared, but just know that the pictures are ridiculous. Each team had an executive as their team captain, and lucky me, I was with the President, and I definitely have some good blackmail on him! I’m talking, one clue required us to take a picture of a laundromat, and someone might have crawled into a dryer… but that’s just “talk.” 😉
After our scavenger hunt, we hung out in the yard, watched the men battle each other with bocce, before grilling and hanging out.
Around 3, some of us started leaving, and I headed home to get ready for the Billy Currington concert that the roomies and our friend, Katie, went to.
A man jabbed me in the back and verbally abused me for not giving him “2 f***king feet” on the floor, but other than that, the concert was amazing. This was the 3rd time I’ve seen Billy, but this was the first time seeing him play in a bar. Being so close to him made me bat crazy.
Billy wears Calvin Klein briefs… just sayin’ 😉
He is way too adorable, and I need to have his curly-haired kids.
Waking up at 7 wasn’t something my body wanted, but I was craving Crossfit, so it was well worth it. This was the last class in my Elements course, and it was my least favorite, but I think that’s only because the moves were tricky to understand. I know for sure during future classes that all my questions about the moves will come up, but until then, I just have to practice my little heart away!
After our WOD, I headed to the gym for a 3 mile run, which felt amazing! The rest of the day was spent at my parents’ house, and my Mom and I also went wedding dress shopping to find her a dress for Ryan’s wedding. While there, I found the colors that I need my future husband to wear on our wedding day. Grey and peach.
Hope whoever the lucky chump is, that he’s okay with my first decision for our wedding. 😉
The perfect lazy day. I slept in so hard, which for me, is waking up at 9 am. I lounged around for a bit, reading the flyers (my favorite Sunday morning ritual), before heading out for a neighborhood run. The run was hard, but it’s these difficult runs that strengthen us in more ways than one.
After errands, meal prep, and blog work, my Mom and I headed to the movies to see The Heat. We’d been meaning to see it since it came out, but we are just a little slow. 😉
There was also a lot of Castle watching, and I got my Mom hooked on the show. Half a weekend spent at home was awesome!
What did you do this weekend?
I still need to go apple picking and hiking!
