Forget about my peanut butter addiction, the newest addiction I have is with jimmies. They are the official protein shake topping, and I literally dump spoonful after spoonful of jimmies on top of my shakes whenever I finish the top layer. Every bite requires jimmies.
Scouts honor I really didn’t intend to eat half of my shake with jimmies, but I had about 5 extra minutes this morning and I took full advantage of it. Life is just 20 times sweeter with a little rainbow
sugar in it.
In my defense, the jimmies were pretty necessary since my entire body is in pain after yesterday’s personal training session. With the current burning sensation running through my inner thighs, you’d think Christian Grey had his way with me last night. Sadly, it was the damn stability ball.
My stomach is still in a little pain as well after a girl’s night out at La Carreta, a very memorable Mexican restaurant for Lindsay and I. I can’t go in to details about why it’s so memorable for us since that one lovely night is future blackmail against Linds, but let’s just say a double date and 1 too many margs on an empty stomach didn’t make Linds the classiest date. 😉
Linds and I met up with Lauren, our college roommate, up in Nashua, where she currently lives with her boyfriend. I hadn’t seen Lauren since probably the summer of our 2010 graduation, so it was longgggg overdue.
College throwback with Linds, Lauren and I. Yes, I’m the special photobombing friend in the background. This was probably after 2 sips of beer for me.
We started off with the best chips and salsa, while we updated each other on our lives, relationships, careers and drama. I’ve always been a die-hard fan of Shorty’s chips and salsa, but these chips were life changing, and I have no idea why. I could have just eaten those chips and called it a meal!
Instead, I acted like a grown-up and ordered the shredded chicken taco bowl, which was phenom. Underneath the mound of lettuce was the best shredded chicken and refried beans that has ever entered my mouth, and I demolished the meal in no time.
I ordered my sour cream and guac on the side since I wanted to be in control of how much I used, and I barely touched the fried taco bowl. It was such a letdown, and to be honest, Taco Bell’s bowls are much better.
After talking and eating for over an hour, we called it a night and headed home. I immedietly crawled into bed and continued reading Skinnydipping, which I had been reading yesterday afternoon until Lindsay picked me up.
This morning I snoozed a little too much and lost a good 10 minutes to my morning workout, but was still able to squeeze in a 3.6 mile run… tight thighs and all. My coworker and I are taking the 4:30 Zumba class today and I’m hoping to get a 1 mile warm-up run in beforehand, so hopefully my cardio workout will loosen up these legs a bit.
Oh, and remember how yesterday I mentioned I was currently roasting and baking veggies and chicken? Well right after hitting publish, I set my fire alarm off and was greeted with a good mix of crispy black brussels and carrots.
I did a good job of eating the charred brussels yesterday after fighting off the alarm, and enjoyed the rest today for lunch.
Do you guys always set the fire alarm off while cooking?
In college I was notorious for setting it off, and any time the alarm went off, we literally had less then a minute to get it to shut off otherwise the fire department would have to come. Bryant University was dramatic. Within seconds of it going off, you’d hear books being slammed shut and feet running through the hall and down the stairs. Fire alarms were a team effort in our college townhouse. 🙂
