Every birthday people always ask me if I feel any older, and I never do. Today I woke up as a fresh-faced 25-year-old and it felt SO weird. So weird! 3 perks to being 25.
- I can rent a car (!!)
- I can order a beer at stadiums outside of NH
- Being 25 means it’s more acceptable to date the older men I prey on! 😉
I started my birthday off with a difficult 4.3 mile run. My abs and legs were burning after yesterday’s abs class, so they felt a lil’ heavy on my run. It didn’t bother me because I then followed it up with an amazing breakfast, courtesy of myself.
Can’t always rely on a sexy man to bring you breakfast in bed on your birthday! Also, it took me 25 years to realize how to make the best batch of cheesy scrambled eggs. For 24 years I mixed the cheese in with the yolk. The key is to top the eggs with the cheese after they’re scrambled. Hello extra cheesy eggs! No ketchup necessary!
My day has been full of emojo-filled birthday wishes, which is easily my favorite part of today.
My cousin Jay had me dying with his emoji story, but a little later on, my cousin Jenn stole the spotlight with her emoji birthday wish.
I had plenty of other amazing emoji texts from all of my friends, but these 2 put ginormous smiles on my face!
My coworkers then surprised me with red velvet cupcakes and a gift card to Home Goods so I could decorate my new apartment! My coworker Nichole has a side business where she bakes cupcakes and cakes for birthdays, weddings, events, and for no particular reason. She was excited when I told her I failed lent and told me I had to eat a cupcake on my birthday.
The Accounting, IT, and various department heads came down to celebrate with me, which was such a nice treat. Of course they came minutes before I was heading to my workout, so the extra sugar really pushed me through my cardio session.
Afternoon Birthday Workout
- 1 mile run
- 2 sets of 12 walking barbell lunges
- 2 sets of 12 backwards walking barbell lunges
- 7 minutes rowing
- 10 minutes spinning
I came back and polished off the remaining frosting on my cupcake and now I’m eagerly watching the clock for 5 pm. Lindsay is treating me to birthday fro-yo. You can bet my whipped cream will be a foot high!
And my brother always gives me the best cards ever!
