Day In The Life//Friday

Hi friends, happy Monday! How was your weekend? What did you do? What kind of ice cream did you eat? What Pokemon did you catch? If you can answer that last question, please don’t. I’m thanking you in advance.

While my weekend was mostly spent packing for my move (just across town | NH is home), I thought it’d be fun to share my Friday with you, since it was a bit out of the norm of a typical Friday.

There were so many wonderful parts to my day, starting with finally being back in my gym after 3 days away. It felt like a lot longer than that, but seeing familiar faces sure was nice!

After my workout, it was the typical day of work, but instead of working until 5, our boss let us leave at 3, since we worked hard in Dallas. Yay!

First stop was visiting this little furball. Why must you be so cute? I could kiss his little face all day long. My smoosh!

And then it was on to the library to stock up on a book or two for our beach vacation next week. I arrived with my “must-read” list.

I have a really hard time saying “no” to books at the library, so naturally I left with 5 lengthy books. I do this to myself every single time.imageAt 3:45, just as I was leaving the library, my friend Sarah, the lovely and hilarious face behind Everyday Sarah Jane, texted me asking what I was doing. Teacher friends who have the summer off are the best. I headed over to her house for an hour of girl talk on her deck. Oh how I love that girl!  imageAnd then it was time for date night, which I had been looking forward to all week. I was given a dozen of the most beautiful red roses that I have ever seen, and a jar of peanut butter. That’s how you woo a girl. The date was a lot of fun, and I’m definitely glad that I said yes to the date.imageI’m kind of digging how the roses look in the Lily Pulitzer tumbler. My Dad offered me a vase just last weekend and I said no, simply because I never receive flowers; great timing on my denial, but I think I might start buying myself flowers every few weeks once I’m settled in my new place.

This weekend was a nice reminder to stop and smell the roses every now and again, to kick back with a book in the sun, and to spend even a quick hour with a friend catching up in person rather than via text.

Weekend Recap: Date Night & Friends

This weekend I learned new things and tried new things.

Friday was low key per usual. I hate making Friday night plans. After a long week of work and early workouts, all I want come Friday at 5 pm are my sweatpants and my couch. It’s a date with myself. So I did just that, after visiting with my parents for an hour or so.

Saturday started bright and early with Ashley at the gym for a back and mini shoulder workout. We spied with our little eyes lots of gym hunks.

After the gym, I was more than ready for breakfast, and all I craved was a bowl of oatmeal! I tried making a protein sauce to put on top of my oatmeal. It was good, but I think I prefer just PB2 sprinkled on top. That or melted peanut butter.

After breakfast, I headed out to grab some groceries and hunt down the Chase Rice cd. Well, I struck out at 2 Targets and Newbury Comics. How is it possible that this cd is not in stock anywhere?!

And then it was back to my parent’s house, where I watched Aloha with Mom. If only it looked like that outside right now!

imageSaturday night = date night. For the first time that I can remember, I was actually looking forward to this date. I suggested Bartlett’s Pub in the Whole Foods. Weird, but it was cool! I’ve wanted to try the pub ever since I had a blogger tour before they opened.Whole-Foods-Nashua-Bartletts-Pub

Just when I was beginning to believe that no good men were left in the world, one walked in with flowers in hand. What?! A tall hunk with flowers for me?! As I walked by the lady eating at a high table, she mouthed, “that is so sweet and rare!” I know!!

I also tried new things. I’ve never been a wine girl, but I’m determined to get into it, which is partly why I recommended Bartlett’s Pub, since they only serve wine and craft beer. I had two glasses of Beaujolais Nouveau, and I’m not sure if it was the wine, the company, or a mix of both, but for hours I found myself genuinely laughing the night away.

Dang, okay that wine. I woke up not wanting to workout. That wine was good, good, good, but I definitely felt it the next morning. Knowing I had Ashley to meet, I put myself together for our workout, which turned out to be 10X better than I had expected it to be. Bi’s/tri’s and HIIT afterwards. Wine is now my officially protein shake post workout, followed by a morning of meal prep, blogging and a check-in with my coach, before I dug into brunch. And finally, the 4th store proved victorious!

And then it was on to my best friend for life’ house to watch the AFC Championship game with Lisha, JJ and his friend Chris.

imageAnd that about wraps up my weekend!

What did you do this weekend?

What’s the next CD that I need to buy?

This Is What My Monday Looked Like

Hi friends! It feels so nice being able to start the work week on a Tuesday. Last week absolutely dragged, but I have a feeling that this week will be quick, quick, quick! Speaking of quick, here’s a quick and fun look into my Memorial Day Monday.

I couldn’t fall asleep until 2 am Sunday into Monday, so I slept in until 9:15.

I had a serious headache going on, so I deemed my morning to be lazy. I spent about an hour on the couch watching The Big Bang Theory and eating a bowl of oatmeal, topped with blueberry maple syrup. Winning combo, fyi!

About an hour and a half after breakfast I headed over to the local fields to torture myself. I love that you have to walk through nature to get to the track!

I loosely followed a Speedy 600 workout that I thought I had found on a blog, but I cannot find it now, so just know that I did a speed workout. 🙂 I started with a 1 mile warm-up run.

I didn’t realize how muggy it was until my first foot strike, and I instantly began to dread the workout ahead. I pushed myself to 3 miles, and was extremely happy once I finished.

With the speedy 600’s, I was able to push myself past my comfort zone, and I realized that my body could handle running at a faster pace. Once my Garmin beeped for 3 miles, I instantly came to a dead halt and passed out on the grass.

On my drive home from the track, I swung by Shaw’s to browse the flower arranagments…
flowersAnd grab a few last minute essentials for the work week.

After a shower, strawberry protein shake and some random things, I broke into a late lunch. Ground turkey with asparagus, spinach and mushrooms. I am on a serious asparagus kick right now!foodPerfect end to my Monday. Date night at Firefly American Bistro. A guy who picks you up.. Chivalry is not dead fellas.

Do you do speed workouts at the track? How often?

What’s your favorite way to eat asparagus?

I love it crispy and grilled!!

Fair Date Night & NYC Day 1

Happy Tuesday to all of my favorite peanut butter loving and hating people (I’m calling out my cousin)! Sorry that I couldn’t pop in yesterday with a weekend recap. I got back from New York City late yesterday evening, and had absolutely no wifi or free time Saturday-Monday to write a post and find wifi to post it. So, since I have a lot to recap, I might just break it up into 2 posts.

This was one of my favorite dates in the longest time. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year, and with that comes fair season. On Friday night, Rick picked me up at my house and we took the scenic, backroads route to the fair.

We spent hours walking around, checking out the local food, observing the unique people that were at the fair, and just enjoying each other’s company.

deerfield fair

I had my very first apple cider donut, I know, the horror, and it was THE best thing that I have ever eaten. Not even an exaggeration. It was fresh, warm, and chewy.

deerfield fair

I had really wanted to find the alpaca costume class (I don’t even know what it means), but when we couldn’t find it, we settled on watching horses compete in carries.

After about ten minutes of that, it was decided that fresh, apple crisp was needed. Apple crisp topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Whomever comes up with these combinations is a pure genius. {Sorry for the blurry picture, I was on the move!}

When you walk 18,000 (half of those being at the fair), 2 desserts are definitely necessary.

Saturday morning I was up bright and early. Too early for a Saturday. (5:30 am). I didn’t think we would get a lot of moving around done, so I got a 1 mile walk in before showering, packing, and heading to work to begin our journey to NYC.

Once we arrived to our hotel around 3, we quickly freshened up, before heading to the lobby to meet up. Our company hired a double decker bus to take a 2 hour tour around the city, which was a blast. I LOVE these busses. I would go on these tours a million times, and don’t even care how much of a tourist it makes me look. They are just so much fun!

By the time we got back to the hotel, we had about an hour or so of free time to relax and get ready before our dinner. Since we were in NYC for the Tunnel to Towers charity race (my company was a major sponsor), we were invited to a private dinner at Elevated Acre, that the organization put on. Wounder soldiers were there, followed by others (who I have no idea who they were).

Can we just talk about this view? It was phenomenal!

Elevated Acre Elevated AcreWe were out until about 8:30, and then a group of us headed back to the hotel to get sleep for an early race morning! More to come on that soon!

Do you love apple cider donuts?

I need MORE!

Middle of the Day Date & Apple Picking

What a fabulous weekend! My weekend unofficially started early on Friday with a special treat on my lunch hour, and lasted throughout a weekend of CrossFit, running, apple picking with the fam, and a lot of relaxing!

So that special treat on my lunch break? I was whisked away from work to go on a mid-workday date. The guy I’ve been dating for the past month was going away for the weekend, so he had asked if he could take me out on my lunch so he could see me before he left. So sweet! To all my single ladies out there… do not settle. Wait patiently until you meet someone that you are absolutely crazy for. I am so glad that I kept going on first date after date until I felt magic on the first date. The past month has been absolutely fab, and I am really excited to see where this goes.

Since Friday nights have typically been reserved for the man, I enjoyed a Friday night free, and of course spent that time going shopping.

Lazy Saturday mornings catching up on blogs in bed is one of my favorite ways to start the day. I hate that I’m relying on an electronic device to read, but reading in bed is just so relaxing, plus, I don’t feel rushed to get through blog posts as I do during the work week.

I headed to CrossFit for the 9 am class, which looked so gross once I got there. So many wall balls, ick!

This is how I felt on the runs with our group of 6.short legs running

2 hours post workout, my ass was on fire from all of the running and wall balls. I had wanted to get a fartlek run in that afternoon, but my feet were throbbing, and I think it was from running in the Nano 4’s. I really don’t know, but it was just so painful to walk, almost like plantar fasciitis. I’ve never had that before, so I don’t even know what it feels like, but the feet are throbbbbbing!

In the early afternoon, the family went apple and pumpkin picking in Hollis at Brookdale Fruit Farm.

brookdale fruit farm We started our day by venturing into the main store/gift shop area. I just love these little stores. Browsing the fresh fruit and veggies, drooling over all of the homemade goodies, and stumbling upon local made candles, artifacts, candles and much more.

Apple cider donuts. It was SO hard to not buy a bag. The boy and I are going to the fair this coming Friday night, and I’m hoping we can find a donut there to enjoy!

brookdale fruit farm

After a bit of browsing inside, we headed out to purchase two pumpkins for the front steps. I <3 fall!

brookdale fruit farm

Once we had our pumpkins in the truck, we headed towards the apple orchards to grab apples. I actually can’t really stomach apples raw without having really bad stomach problems, but I did steal a few bites from several different types of apples. Nothing better than biting into a crisp, fresh apple off of a tree!

brookdale fruit farm

I asked my Dad to take a picture of me picking an apple. He took 3 of me that didn’t even have the apple in the picture. This picture defines the picture taking process perfectly.

A lazy Saturday night was spent under the blanket and on the couch. I felt utterly exhausted, and just wanted to get some rest so I could get a training run on Sunday morning.

Woke up to a rainy morning, which is the perfect weather for lounging on the couch and allowing your body to wake up. A little before 11 I headed out for a run since there was a break in the rain. Sadly, 2 minutes into my run, the rain started coming down, and it kept coming down even harder. This week of training calls for an extra 3 minutes of running added on, and it was a difficult run. Not every run is supposed to be easy, and I’m glad that it took to the 12th week of training to really have just a wonky run.

rainy run

After barely surviving my run, I spent a good amount of time baking the afternoon away and getting food ready for the week. Love lazy Sundays!

And lastly, for the winner of the Fuel for Fire 4-pack, the winner is Lindsay Heath! I’ve notified her of winning!

Have you gone apple/pumpkin picking yet?

Fro-Yo, Runner’s Alley & Training Runs

If this weekend was any indicator of anything, it was that fall is truly here. The nights are super chilly, and the days have quite a bit of a bite to them. A few degrees warmer would be up my alley more, but I can’t complain since fall weather is my favorite to run in, which there was plenty of this weekend!

I started my weekend on a fabulous note. It was date night, and it felt more like the hometown dates on The Bachelor. We started our night with dessert for dinner at Tutti Frutti. After stressful weeks for both of us, a bowl of fro-yo made it all better.

Chocolate chip cookie dough (a bust!) & cinnamon french toast (OMG!), was topped with crushed Butterfingers, crushed Oreos (YES!!), and whipped cream. So delish! {{This is a recycled picture of fro-yo with Linds}}.

froyo_tuttifruttiAfter our fro-yo and some talking, we headed next door to The Tap House for several more hours of chatting & laughing the night away. Such a fabulous night and great way to start the weekend!

I had wanted to sleep in, but for some reason, I was wide awake by 8 am. So much for waking up around 9/10 am. The upside to that was that by 9:30, it felt like 11, which meant I still had so much left of my day. I was surprisingly really famished, and since it was chilly and overcast outside, I started my morning with a bowl of banana bread oatmeal with 1 tbsp of peanut butter.

I let my carby breakfast digest a bit, and focused on getting mobility in and loosening up for my training run. I rely on all of these tools to stay accountable and to allow me to train day in and day out.

Around 10:30, I headed out for the last training run of Week 10. I can feel that my endurance continually improves, and this run felt really great, except halfway through I kept getting a side-stitch, which was rather annoying. My coach taught me that when I cramp up during runs, to run with my arms low and to shake them out. Aside from stopping twice to stretch a bit, I focused on a lot of lower arm running, which seemed to get the stitches to slowly fade away.

After cleaning up and making lunch, I headed out to Concord to Runner’s Alley. I was in need of a new pair of running shoes, and since I’m training for a new distance than what I’m used to, I knew I wanted a proper shoe for the race. I have always relied on Nike shoes to run in ever since I started running in 2010, but I was ready to test the other brands out.

My friend Sean is the manager of this location, and if you’ve been a reader on here for years, you’ll remember that 2 springs ago he spent over an hour fitting me for a pair of shoes at the Manchester location, and I left empty handed. He reminded me again of that day. What a puke haha.

I was first fitted and given a shoe that had a lot of cushioning on it, which didn’t feel right, since I’m used to a lightweight shoe. When I mentioned my feelings on the shoe, Sean informed the guy that I’m a CrossFitter and am used to a lighter shoe with a specific style, and that, coupled with running in Nike Frees, I was brought out 2 different shoes that were more my speed.

Believe it or not, I actually found a shoe that was a winner. The ASICS Gel-Lyte33. These shoes are so incredibly fabulous. They are lightweight, extremely comfortable, and the color I just love!

I also stocked up on some NUUN tablets, Gu Chomps & Gu Energy Gels (got the salted carmel per Janae’s recommendation), and a new Brooks running hat! Sean also sent me home with a complimentary Runner’s Alley water bottle, and gave me a discount on my purchase. IMG_1085

If you are local to New Hampshire, I highly recommend checking out Runner’s Alley. They first watch you walk and then run barefoot, studying your form and imbalances, and then fit you for shoes that will be best for you. Then they watch you run again, but in the shoes. They take the guess work out of finding the proper running shoe. They are located in Manchester, Concord, and Portsmouth, and they really know their stuff. If I could work there, I so would. Talk about a dream job!

After my awesome purchases at Runner’s Alley, I continued on to Target for multiple bags of “essentials.” By the time I made it home, the rain had started to come down, which meant that a lazy afternoon and evening in my sweats on the couch was necessary. I love fall days like this!

A successful morning of sleeping in until 9, and lounging on the couch watching Something Borrowed, until 11 am. Once I peeled myself off of the couch, I got my stuff together, loosened up, and took off for my training run.

I started week 11 of my training, which meant an extra 6 minutes of running added on. The run felt a lot harder than Saturday’s run, but I actually knocked 10 seconds off of my mile splits! I ended up with 4.4 miles, which took me straight to my favorite spot in our neighborhood.

hooksettNHI wish I could say I had a wild rest of my Sunday, but I chose to relax and take it easy, which was actually really necessary since I was wiped out.

What was the highlight of your weekend?

Unwanted Goodbyes & Weekend Fun

I am starting this Monday morning off with the biggest smile after such an amazing weekend. While I did have to say goodbye to my friend Sara, the rest of the weekend was extremely happy. It was a lovely weekend!

I got to enjoy some quality time with this bearded man. He took me into downtown Manchester to Muse Paint Bar, a fun little studio that gives lessons on painting. I went about a year ago with our Blog & Tweet NH group, but this was the first time I’ve gone with a date. If you’re local to the area and looking for a great date night, I highly recommend Muse!

We had a blast, and learned a lot about each other, such as the fact that he doesn’t follow directions and paints what he wants. After looking at that picture, I’m realizing that I am really short!MusePaintBar I also went to my first CrossFit Saturday morning class in months, and I am so happy I crawled out of bed for it! I really love the ability to stay as long as I want and chat with those that I typically don’t see during the work week. It was a reminder of how much I love weekend mornings with my CrossFit teammates. The workout though, holy hell was it hard!

A lot of upper body work, which is great because upper body is my favorite to work. After all of that work, the running was the worst part of the workout since you were just so smoked to begin with. The humidity didn’t help either, but I was able to run pain free. The only pain came when I was stretching after and put pressure on the side of my toe.

After the workout, I had a productive morning and afternoon getting a lot of work done, both for the blog and for life. My goal is for this blog to grow, so I’m carving out extra time each day/week to see it become even better!

That afternoon, I headed to my friend Sara’s Dad’s house for her going away party with 5 other CrossFit friends. Sara’s moving to Texas for work, so we spent a few hours at the house hanging out with her one last time and chatting the afternoon away.

I’m going to miss this girl so much! I actually met Sara through our Blog & Tweet NH group, and our second time hanging out was at the Muse Paint Bar event (go figure!). Sara was the one who was able to convince me to join her CrossFit box, and I am so glad she did.

6:30 am classes with her were my favorite, and I am going to miss her spunky spirit so much!

The rest of my Saturday was spent running a few errands, making home made pizza, and vegging out in bed. A low key Saturday was so necessary.

homemade_pizza Apparantly Saturday’s workout was a lot of lower body too, because I woke up at 7 with a lot of leg soreness. Knowing that I had nowhere I had to be, I went back to bed until 9. Clearly I needed rest!

After a greek yogurt with 1 tbsp of peanut butter, I headed out for my training run, which was sweaty but really good! I sprawled out on the deck post-run, and left a pretty fitting sweat imprint on the deck.

run_sweat_imprintI refueled with a cookies & cream protein shake with LOTS of frozen bananas in there. I needed all the carbs I could get!

A productive Sunday of meal prepping, cleaning, and shamelessly reading and learning at Barnes & Noble followed.

What was the highlight of your weekend?

I Almost Wore Yoga Pants On a Date

I’m really proud of myself for 1) making it to Friday without complaining about the week dragging (it didn’t), and, 2) for getting back into my favorite workout schedule.

After a few CrossFit heavy weeks, and little running, it was brought to my attention, via heavy breathing, and deathly thoughts during my run, that I needed a better balance of CrossFit and running. Running a few miles a week wasn’t cutting it, as I quickly lost my mojo.

This week I vowed to make running a priority.

This on Monday. Gross. Gross. Gross. 10 deadlifts 1 burpee. 9 deadlifts 2 burpees and so on until you’re at 1 deadlift and 10 burpees. Vomit.

2 miles on Tuesday::::::: 1 warm-up mile, and 1 mile of HIIT. This run made me want to hurl myself off a treadmill. I have the worst ADD now when I’m on a treadmill. Not too many hunks at 6:30 am to keep me occupied during my runs.

This on Wednesday. It doesn’t look as bad on paper. 7 rounds, okay, I thought it’d suck but be doable. In reality, I wanted to rip my eyeballs out and throw them at my coach. This one sucked major butt. 2 rounds in and I thought for sure I would DNF (did not finish) the WOD. Hand-release push-ups are the easiest push-up of all. Weird, I know. It killed my quads, which I’m only saying because I tripped twice walking up the stairs to work after this one. I was also texting while walking, so it could have just been my lack of coordination.

2.5 miles on Thursday:::::: 1 mile warm-up, 1/2 mile regular paced run, and 1 mile of HIIT sprints. Again, no babes at the gym so I watched THIS music video for the entire 2.5 miles. On repeat. I came across it on YouTube Tuesday night, and spent Tuesday and Wednesday night listening to it on repeat. I watched it about 13 times yesterday at the gym (run + walk).

Today is my complete day of rest. I haven’t been feeling good this week. My stomach hurts all the time. Not like, “shit my pants” stomach pains, but just a nagging one that won’t go away. I was in no mood for pants, so I almost wore yoga pants on my date. I had them on and then at the last minute I put jeans back on and hated life. Who knew jeans would make me so mad. I once went on a date this past winter and the guy encouraged workout pants. That is my dream man (one that encourages life in workout clothes). I wore yoga pants on that previous date and that alone made it the best date ever. I need to add that to the list of rules for dating me.

How do you beat treadmill boredom?

What’s going on for you this weekend?

Tonight CrossFit Paul and I are heading to the movies to see the new Captain America movie. I’m just going so I can drool over Chris Evans. I am 100% serious. CrossFit baby shower for Lauren on Saturday, and hopefully some shopping for some spring clothes. Woo! Maxi dresses here I come (again, this means no pants!).

Take One Lick of Dessert, No One Will Know

Happy Monday love bugs! Another great weekend in the books, and I have a fun week ahead of me! This weekend was spent with some of my favorite people.

After work on Friday I had a great dinner date with my best friends, Jenny and Lisha, at Tuscan Kitchen, which was not technically half way for us and Lisha.IMG_5820

Jen made Lisha hold her utensils while she photographed her food. I love friends who take pictures of their food. It makes me feel normal. The lighting is so bad, but there’s Lisha holding Jenny’s knife and fork, right in front of her face.

The girls ordered a dessert to share, and it was complete torture watching them eat a chocolate cake, filled with chocolate fudge, drizzled in chocolate sauce, and topped with gelato. Damn Paleo challenge! They asked me to dip my finger in the sauce and try it, saying no one would ever know if I didn’t note it in my food log for my coach. I stayed strong, even when Lisha tried to get me to smell a bite of it.

Best friends since high school. We hadn’t seen Lisha in the longest time, but it felt like only 3 days had passed. That’s what a true friendship is like. We just sat there for about 3 1/2 hours talking about work, guys, and life in general.

We had freezing rain Saturday morning, so I skipped a CrossFit workout, and went in at 10 to do about 2 hours of mobility. It felt SO good to stretch and get knots out of my legs and shoulders.

After mobility, I headed to the gym to run. I found this really awesome app on the treadmill I was on that allowed me to run through different countries. I ran 4 of the quickest and easiest miles through New Zealand.

The tour brings you through mountains, cities, residential areas, etc, as you get history lessons at each point. The people talk and yell at you, and when you run by them, you realize that they are REAL. As in someone was actually walking/running when creating the content for the app. SO cool! I’m definitely so excited to use these treadmills when I have to run inside. It ignited my travel bug.

This is the book that you need to read. It’s about a married couple who both don’t want kids and then one has a change of heart. The entire book makes you wonder if true love will conquer all. SO good!IMG_5851Saturday night I got to spend with Utah. While the rest of New England was watching the Patriots game, Utah and I went and saw The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (yay for a guy who doesn’t like football!). The movie was AWESOME, and after the movie, we both commented on how we wanted to travel asap. I’d see the movie again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!!

After the movie, we headed to the TapHouse, where the game was still on, but we were those people at the bar just talking the night away. The restaurant was getting really loud from the game, so we headed out and drove around town for another hour talking the night away. Amazing night.

Sunday was a relaxing day for me. I enjoyed a lazy start to my day before grabbing groceries for the week. Around noon I headed out for a 3 mile run to take advantage of the 45 degree heat wave.

unnamed-16I spent the next few hours prepping several Paleo dishes for the week, before retreating back to my apartment for a lazy night.

How was your weekend? Any movies you want to see?

Christmas Came Early & My Boys

Christmas came and went this weekend. Ryan came home Thursday night for an extra long Christmas weekend, which meant lots of time spent with my partner-in-crime.

Friday afternoon I took off from work early so I could bring Ryan to CrossFit. We went to  open gym, and I put him through a scaled-down girl workout, Barbara. It was a killer WOD, and we were both left breathless once we finished.

After our WOD, we had a family dinner before starting our Christmas Eve. We drove around for almost an hour looking at Christmas lights around town before heading home and watching Christmas Vacation.

Yes, it takes 2 men to put the angel on top of our 9 foot tree.IMG_5426

After a 3.5 mile HIIT run at the gym, I got ready for Christmas with my Mom’s side of the family.IMG_5406 IMG_5425

Once we got home around 5, Ryan’s best buds and my cousin came over for the night. These boys have become big brothers to me, and I love them tremendously.IMG_5423

Around 8 I headed out for sushi with Mr. Utah, and then gave him a guided tour around town since he’s semi new to the area.

We then headed to The Farm a little later, and my boys came and surprised me there. They walked in The Farm screaming, “IS THERE AN ALISON LEWIS IN THIS BAR?!” These boys are my heart and they had me cracking up all night. I think they were just a little overwhelming for my date, but if you can’t hang with my guys, welp, see ya later!

After waking at 9, I hung around with the guys for a bit before heading out for a run. The rest of the afternoon and evening was spent with my family. We had our Christmas yesterday afternoon since Ryan leaves today to spend Christmas with his fiancĂ©’s family.

Yesterday 3 of the big wins were the Nom Nom Paleo cookbook, an IsoBag so I can transport all of my meals, and a case of RxBars. Woo!

xmas giftsHave you started celebrating Christmas yet?

It’s going to be so weird having Christmas without Ry Christmas morning, but I still have half of my stocking and half of my gifts left that I get to open with my parents. Here’s to new traditions.
