After this weekend, I am officially in the Christmas spirit, a lot more later than usually, but it’s finally here and I’m ready to take full advantage of the last few weeks! I saw a Santa driving a red truck with the license plate, “S.Claus” on Saturday, which is what totally turned the spirit on.
So Thursday I was still really sick, which explains my absence on the blog on Friday. All I really wanted was to rest and not spend time on my computer after work, so that’s what I did.
After not being able to get enough sleep every night of this past week, this weekend was mine to sleep until I woke up. Saturday I awoke around 8:30 and got a workout in. I attempted running, but 2 miles felt like 50 on my lungs. Crazy how one day I can run just fine while sick, and the next it hurts to breathe.
After working out, I did a little cleaning around the house, before running out quickly to pick up a Christmas gift. Around 4, I headed over to Ger’s. We ran out quickly, before it was time to get fancied up for my company’s holiday party. I didn’t make it last year, but I wish I had, because this was an incredibly fun night.
Santa (our CEO) arrived, and led a group of coworker carolers.
And Santa gave hilarious gag gifts to some of the staff. Things got a little out of control.
Ger and I shared 2 pieces of cake, which were both amazing. We left the party around 9:20, and went back to his place to finish Bates Motel. I am so depressed that we made it through both seasons already. We stayed up talking until about 12:30, before I headed home to get some rest.
Given the fact that I probably didn’t get to sleep until close to 2 am, all I really wanted to do was sleep the heck in. 9:20 came around, and I knew that if I didn’t wake up then, that I would probably sleep until 10:30. I got up, went downstairs, and baked breakfast, which were the protein pancake squares that we made Wednesday night. (My mix had jimmies in it, hence the Christmas colors 🙂 )
I enjoyed the squares while blogging and watching a Hallmark Christmas movie. Once my body was more awake and my food had digested, I headed over to the gym for a light workout. Post-gym, I enjoyed my new favorite post-workout snack, thanks to a great find from the bff Lindsay. It’s called the Beltsander Brownie.
The rest of the day was spent grocery shopping, meal prepping, watching football, and reading.
What is your favorite post-workout snack?
Have you been to a holiday party yet this year?
Tell me something random about your weekend! 🙂
