Hey there! How was everybody’s weekend? What did you do? What did you eat? My weekend was a healthy mix of relaxing and fun, so I would say it was a success!
My Friday night was my ideal way to spend Friday. After work I went home and relaxed on my couch with an episode of White Collar while eating dinner, which was a tuna and sweet relish wrap.
A little after 6 I headed out to go grab a few items at the grocery store so that I could eat healthy over the weekend. There is a Sports Authority right at the set of lights near my complex, so I just decided to drive straight into their parking lot instead of turning right for the grocery store. All I had planned on doing was browsing the Nikes…. ugh. I found a pair of boy’s Nike shoes that were on sale for $54. I accidentally bought them. Opps. In my justification my Asics are ripping, and I would love a shoe that works well for both HIIT and lifting, and for $54, I couldn’t say no.
After my unexpected purchase, I grabbed a few groceries, and then broke in my shoes around my apartment. I watched more White Collar and read more of my book before calling it a night and falling asleep just shy of 9 pm.
Legggggg day kids! I was up at 6 am and at the gym ready to workout at 6:40 am. I absolutely love early mornings at the gym. Most of the town is still sleeping and I get the place to myself!
I got back to my apartment around 8:30, and I spent the next few hours getting fresh, cleaning my place, and prepping a few meals before I headed out to run a few errands.
Early afternoon and evening was spent having a BBQ with my Mom’s side of the family!
I lost the one game I played of corn hole. I spent the rest of the time observing and relaxing.
The food. WAS SO GOOD. I picked out the watermelon from the fruit salad because I’m a brat. The chicken and that salad = amazing! I then filled an entire plate with fruit salad, and this time I didn’t pick out just the watermelon.
Up at 5:30 to hit the gym before a beach day with my girls. Waking up this early on the weekends is really easy when I go to bed by 9ish. I really love this routine that I have going. It was literally just me and these 3 other guys. Sure I could sleep in, but having the gym to myself… ahhhh it’s just so nice! 25 minute shake-out run after leg day, followed by back and biceps. I had to cut my workout just a few sets short so I could hit the beach!
Eat, Pray, Love, the book I checked out over 2 month ago from the library that I lost for a solid month was found in my Mom’s car jammed between the seat and center console….. I really don’t remember being in my Mom’s car, let alone with my book, so that’s one of life’s mysteries… but I’m just glad that I don’t have to pay a “lost book” few!
Nothing felt better than showering off 21 layers of sunscreen. I plopped on my couch afterwards with a PEScience peanut butter protein shake and a hamburger bun with melted peanut butter. This hit the spot.
At 5:30 I got cuddled up on my couch to finish Eat, Pray, Love, before ending the night with an episode of White Collar. Asleep by 8:30 because the sun just kills you!
