Well yesterday didn’t turn out how I had imagined it, but sometimes a sick day is just what you need to get healthy again! I always feel so guilty for taking a sick day, but that’s what they are for. To use when you are sick. I know when I’m sitting at work feeling like sewage, I am absolutely unproductive, so using your sick time to get better only means you are one step closer to being productive again.
So yesterday, that’s what I did. I called out sick, and instead of waking up at 5:15, I awoke at 9:20, and felt so refreshed. I still felt cruddy, but at least I was rested.
I started my morning by finishing up Wednesday’s blog post.
I then ate a hard-boiled egg before heading to the gym.
I had planned on getting to CrossFit, but I know the rule of going when you’re sick. You’re not allowed to. So instead, off to Gold’s I went to really sweat this beast out of me. I felt SO good once I was finished, and am pretty sure I lost about 20 pounds during that sweat-fest.
Back home, I showered, ate, and started a much-needed load of laundry. The pile NEVER gets that full!
I settled onto the ground with Kip, and we played a few rounds of fetch & tug-of-kong, while I worked on getting this post started and creating some social media content for FitGirl. FYI, all of our FitGirl ladies’ tank tops and unisex t-shirts are 25% off now until Christmas, so head on over and get a top if you haven’t already! If you use the code: RUNNINGONPB you get free shipping with 2+ tanks! 🙂
The rest of my day was spent relaxing, running errands, relaxing some more, and then having a man with muscles whip up protein pancakes for dinner. It was low key, but what I needed.
How was your Wednesday? Do you feel guilty taking sick days?
