Last night something absolutely amazing happened. I was konked out by 8:30 pm. It was glorious and much-needed. Thanks to 9 hours of sleep last night, I feel like the energizer bunny.
I left work yesterday as I had an obligation I had to attend to, and during that time, I believe I walked about a mile in high heels. Now to some girls, that’s nothing, but for me, I wear running shoes, not high heels. I was in so much pain that I wanted to log roll my way to the entrance.
Once I was free, around 4:15, I headed back to Manchester to take my Wednesday evening gym classes. Unfortunately I missed the Body Pump Express class, but I ended up being changed with 5 minutes to spare for the Kickboxing Express class.
It sucked, but I think that’s because the shoes I wore were incredibly painful and kept cramping up my feet. I debated leaving early several times because it hurt to complete any jumping move, which was 70% of the class. I sucked it up, and was so wiped out after the 30 minutes (coupled with little sleep this week), I left and didn’t stay for the regular Body Pump. Whatever. A mile in high-heels and kickboxing, that’s a good enough workout for me.
On my way home, I grabbed essentials at the grocery store. Salad, lemons, bananas, frozen strawbs, and milk.
I quickly showered and plopped myself on the couch for a lazy girl’s dinner. That’s where the milk was necessary.
Nothing better than a lazy night on the couch with 2 bowls of Puffins cereal with casein milk and HIMYM. My roomie told me she loved HIMYM and I told her that was a good thing because I had 34 episodes on DVR. We checked and it’s actually 30. FML. They need to stop playing 4 episodes a day! I am going to have to take a vacation day just to catch up.
PS, I figured by adding 1/2 scoop of vanilla casein to my cereal milk that I was eating a somewhat “okay” dinner.
And then I quickly passed out. When I woke up, I wasn’t in the mood for a run, but run I did. The air conditioner is conveniently broken at the gym, so I ran 3 miles in desert like heat before throwing in the towel and working my shoulders.
My breakfast this morning was better than yours. Since I finished up my jug of old-fashioned oats, I decided to try a gluten-free version. I’ve always wanted to try the GF oats, but at Shaw’s a bag is $12.99! So the other night when I came across the same bag for $6.99, I couldn’t pass it up.
When I compared the nutritional stats to one another, I was blown away.
I don’t even care about the calorie difference. Look at the difference in fat and protein! Even if the gluten-free version of oats doesn’t aid in digestion and all those stomach woes, at least I will be happy about the actual product itself.
So, my breakfast?
I ran out of my PB2 stash, and was getting sick of it in my oats, so since I have 100 jars of peanut butter, I grabbed a jar to keep in my office. Along with 1/3 of a banana, I also included Stonewall Kitchen’s Wild Maine Blueberry Jam that I received at the Stonyfield 5k post-race fair.
Look at those cute little fresh bluebs in that bite! Real peanut butter tastes 500 times better than the flour version. Plus, since I cut the fat from the old-fashioned oats, why not bring it back with real pb, right?
The rest of the day will be fun. No sleeping by 8:30 for me! I’m heading to a fancy smancy dinner at Mint Bistro tonight with my cousin Jenn’s, Crossfit friend. Girl has been trying to set me up with him for months now, but unfortunately that all happened when I was dating Mark, so now a little dinner date is finally happening.
I can’t get the burger on the pretzel bun wrapped in bacon since I just had a burger on Sunday, so I think I’m going for sushi.
What type of sushi should I get tonight?
Have you tried Gluten-Free oats, if so, what’s your opinion?
Creamy or crunchy peanut butter?
If you say crunchy, we can’t be friends.
