Last night I apparently put on my college pants because I sure as hell acted like a college student, staying out at the bars until 12:30 and downing 5 beers, which is a lot for me. I usually cap off at 3, 4 if I’m feeling wild.
Consequently, I just awoke from a morning nap under my desk. With the lack of sleep and the heavy beer stomach, I wish that above sentence actually happened.
Last night on a spur of the moment decision, I met up with Sean at 9:15 at Strange Brew. I met Sean a little over a year ago at my old gym, and now that we go to the same gym again, I’ve been blessed that I get to check him out while working out. Hey, whatever keeps you at the gym longer, right? 😉 No, seriously though, I kid. Not really.
I tortured the kid yesterday at Runner’s Alley, so I told him I owed him a drink to make up for it, which he happily accepted last night.
We bar hopped like college kids from 9:15 until 12:30 and had such a fun time people watching and trying to figure out their stories. We were so intrigued by this one cougar in a flannel shirt with a puffy vest on that was trying to score with this guy who we couldn’t quite figure out. I thought gay, Sean wasn’t sure. We tested it out. Sean went to get the tab and leaned next to the guy, and didn’t get checked out once by him— only by me. When I went down to the bar, said guy apparently checked me out. I hate being wrong, especially when my gaydar is SO good! Luckily we didn’t make a bet on that one!
It was so nice to hang out with Sean outside of the gym and I’m glad I didn’t pull the loser card and not go out. It felt good to live and forget about sleep for a night. I’m definitely paying for it today, but would do it all over again.
This morning I woke up in pain. I snoozed a little longer than normal and made it to the gym 30 minutes later than usual, but I still managed to get in a great 4 mile run in before work. Really not sure how I did that based on how late I was and how blahh I was feeling, but I’ve realized that some of my best runs happen under the worst feelings. Some things just aren’t meant to be understood!
I haven’t had that big of an appetite today, but I did make sure to eat a little something after my run.

A little while later I forced myself to eat again and went for my trusted breakfast.
PB & J Proatmeal! Okay, back to that nap. Will someone come tuck me in?
