Annual Lewis Luau

Rabbit rabbit! How is it already August?! Saturday was my 2nd favorite day of the year. My Aunt Judy & Uncle Dave’s annual Lewis Luau.

There was corn hole for the adults.image

And corn hole for the little guys. (Playing cornhole with Lucas and Brinkley is more fun than playing with adults).

This picture makes my heart explode. My brother is going to be a great Dad one day. One day though. They are making us all wait.

imageFor the first time ever, when I asked Lucas if he wanted to take a picture, he actually said yes! He was a bit wiggly, but I’ll take it! image

Oh, and there was a pig! I tried the pig, but I like the actual pig roasting better than eating it.image

Lindsay and I enjoyed a beautiful Saturday evening sky…

What were the highlights of your weekend?

What I Did on Monday {{Recap}}

Cheers to a short work week, heck ya! I’m sitting here with my fingers crossed just hoping that this week will fly by, because all I want is to spend endless amount of time with my college girlfriends on a beach. With the countdown in full effect, I’m starting to really get prepared for the trip so that I’m not waiting until the night before I leave to get all of my essentials. Any who, here’s a look at my Monday!

After a late Sunday night, all I wanted to do was sleep in on Monday morning, but I still dragged my butt out of bed for an early morning workout. I got to the gym a few minutes after 6, and was extremely happy to see that roughly 6 people were there as well. It’s always the same group too that are there at 6 am on the weekend and on a holiday. One of the employees even made that comment to me last Saturday, that it’s always the same few dedicated people who come early when the rest of the world is sleeping. There’s just something so calming about killing a workout with less of a crowd, but with those that are chasing their goals.

So, my workout was a 20 minute HIIT run, followed by a tough back and bicep workout… with abs done at home!

After my ab workout, I attempted making 2 protein shakes, but they just weren’t good, so I tossed that idea, took a shower and then dug into a bowl of banana oatmeal topped with peanut butter. I ate this while texting Lindsay about our respective Sunday’s.

I spent the next few hours prepping food for the week, while Kip Moore’s Wild Ones cd played in the living room. Obsessed with this cd! It was then on to my parent’s house, where I spent several hours laying on their deck working on my tan and reading. Smiles brought to you by the other Kip.

Around 11:30 I enjoyed a banana with the new Pumpkin Spice peanut butter from Nuts ‘n More. I won this off of a Periscope, so it tastes even better since it was free. 🙂 It is SO good though, and I highly recommend it!

After showering around 2, I dug into lunch, which was spaghetti squash with chicken and salsa. I’m trying to finish up the spaghetti squash from the end of last week so that I don’t waste any food!image

I then headed back to my apartment to drop off my laundry, throw a dress on, and head out for Starbucks & shopping.

CrossFit Comp, Pool Party & Running

Nothing beats starting your weekend with fresh fruit and your brother and sister-in-law being in town for a wedding. The weekend was full of family, and it was just a really good few days.

Friday night we stayed up super late after BBQing, and spent the time hanging out, talking, and watching What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. We hadn’t seen it yet, so we were excited to see what all the fuss was about. It was interesting for sure, but I liked it!

I started my morning off with a training run from my Couch to 10K program, before heading to CrossFit Nashua to support 2 of our teams in the Summer Smackdown competition.

Once I got home, I was able to spend just a few minutes with Ryan and Chels, before they headed to a wedding.

Right after they left, I had to pack up a few things to head to my Aunt & Uncle’s annual Lewis Luau. It was so much fun, and even though it was cloudy, I loved being able to spend the day with my family.

Unfortunately I didn’t hop into the water. It just looked so cold, and my shivering cousin Lindze didn’t make it seem tempting either!IMG_9642 IMG_9645

A much-needed morning sleeping in until 9:30. I retreated downstairs to find Ryan and Chelsey awake, so I joined them on the couch to watch golf & get some blog work done. We lounged around for a bit before we took a 1.5 mile walk around the neighborhood.

Shortly after returning, Ry & Chels packed up and left, and I made my way downtown to Runner’s Alley to pick up a few things for training. I’ve really been hit with the running bug over the last few weeks, more so than I have lately, and I’m really excited to tackle new distances!

Once I came home from Runner’s Alley & a training run, I retreated outside to do some blog work and catch some sun.

Aside from one incident, it really was another great summer weekend!

What was the highlight of your weekend?

How many miles did you run?

It Just Looks Like Summer

Work weeks after long weekends are always hard. Every day this week has absolutely dragged, and all I’ve been doing is wishing for the weekend. Summer always makes for great images, and some of my favorite moments from this week, while maybe not too exciting, just scream summer to me.

Early morning runs while the fog settles, the sun shines, and every one is still sleeping or just waking up.

Using your lunch hour or any moment of a nice day to cruise with the music up and windows down. Also a plus when you find your soulmate. <333333

Been listening to this non-stop, because on FRIDAY I’m going to the concert with Alan! I cannot wait to drool over Mr. Buble. 🙂 (This doesn’t look like summer, I know.)

What does summer look like to you?

What do I wear to a Michael Buble Concert? A ball gown?!
