For today’s installment of What I Ate Wednesday, I wanted to focus on some of the reasons why following a macro-based lifestyle work for me and doesn’t make me feel deprived.
I try to make most of my meals healthy and clean. I typically eat a tuna wrap and chicken with a veggie for breakfast and lunches, which while can get boring after time, I will usually eat that if I want an exciting dinner. Maybe that means protein pancakes or breaded scallops. Or a bagel and eggs or a hamburg quesadilla. I’ve found that having a really great meal, typically dinner, helps me stay accountable during the day.
I also will use my snacks as times to cure my sweet tooth. So I will almost always have a strawberry greek yogurt with peanut butter… which tames my sweet tooth and well, peanut butter.
Carbs & fat make me happy and keep me from getting hangry, so I have an english muffin with peanut butter every single day. This is actually what I usually look forward to the most during the day!
Anyways, here are some of the meals that keep me from ever feeling deprived, and knowing that I can enjoy these meals and make progress is extremely motivating!
Blueberry protein pancakes
Breaded scallops = heaven
Ground beef with steak sauce and broccoli… the sauce is key to making this taste so fabulous!
Ground turkey or mushroom and cheese quesadilla
And my favorite… BBQ foods!
Chicken Sausage & peppers
