Talk about a candy corn overload. In fact I’m convinced I woke up a candy corn. I contemplated not running, or going for an easy run. I was thinking 2 miles, then thought 3, but settled on running 3.3. I blame my slow pace on the damn candy corn. Can’t wait to stuff my face with more tonight!
- 3.3 mile run
- 1 minute plank
- 50 crunches and 50 side-to-side crunches
- 2 sets of 20 mountain climbers
By the looks of it, it was quite a lazy morning workout. Throughout my day so far I have managed to squeeze in 3 minutes, or 3 “1 minute” planks, totaling my plank total to 4 minutes. Since I can get away with hiding in my office corner and busting out push-ups, squats, planks, jumping jacks, etc, my new goal is to complete at least 5 minutes of planks each day. It’s such a manageable goal, even if you break it into 30 second increments. Not only does this engage my body more throughout the day, but it also forces me to get out of my chair. If you have the room to do any exercise like this throughout your workday, I highly recommend it. With clean eating habits (including candy corn 😉 ), you’ll be looking and feeling better during your workday.
For breakfast I made a protein shake for the road but the pungent taste made me want to hurl it out the window. If it weren’t for all the cute kiddos waiting for the school bus, that dirt nasty smoothie would be on the side of the road. Not really, (go green!), but you catch my drift.
Instead, I opted for a banana to quiet my stomach, and made a bowl of oatmeal around quarter of 11. Late breakfast, but damn that naner sure did keep me satisfied all morning!
Then I needed food. Seriously needed food. You don’t understand. I pummeled through my chocolate peanut butter yogurt.
Then I proceeded to demolish a Peanut Butter & Jelly Larabar. Oh me oh my was that Larabar 20 kinds of amazing!
This might be my favorite Larabar I’ve tried so far! It tasted exactly like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich… well, as close as a bar can. The ingredients in the Larabar are awesome too. I was worried what would be used for the “jelly,” and was pleased when unsweetened cherries were the jelly stand-in. Along with unsweetened cherries, the other ingredients include dates, peanuts and sea salt.
My thighs are in pain today. Not sure if it’s from squats or overuse, so it’ll be interesting to see how my workout goes in a few minutes.
Here’s to crossing my fingers that it’s a killer workout!
