Let’s talk goals! Last week a reader asked what my goals were, both in regards to workouts and body goals. It was such a great question that I wanted to chat about it with all of you, not only to keep you guys up to date, but also to keep myself attainable.
My biggest goals are of course focused around my training. This fall I tackled a 10k, and it was an amazing feeling. About a month ago after passing by our city’s 1/2 marathon course, I felt motivated to push beyond what I felt I was capable of, which means next year I am going for a 1/2 marathon! After my 10k, my friends and brother both asked what was next, and at the time, I told them I just wanted to soak up that accomplishment, but I changed my mind quickly.
Runner’s Alley, our local running store has a beginner’s fall 1/2 marathon training program for $149. It includes a 13 week training program, with the following included:
It’s a great deal, and I trust these guys so much, that I know I won’t fail. So the 1/2 marathon is my big goal of 2015, and with it being about 9-ish months away, it means I have a lot of time to really get my body in better 1/2 marathon condition. So now towards my body goals. I will continue to work with my “macro” coach, and will aim to really tone up and shed unnecessary body fat. It’s as simple as toning up, getting stronger, and being healthier than I am today. I do not think it is necessarily healthy or realistic to set goals that are so number specific, so mine are more broad, which I think won’t cause stress in working towards.
Mini goals of course are to continue running in possibly 1 race a month. Jaime did that this year, and I thought that it was such a great and fun accomplishment! I’d like to tackle a few additional 10ks next year, along with a 10 mile race, leading up to the 1/2 marathon.
2014 was such a fantastic year, and I am just so stinkin’ excited to see what 2015 has in store for me! 🙂
What are your training goals for 2015? Or any goal in general. Tell me!
Another goal: don’t be a grandma every single night.
