Remember how when my Paleo challenge ended that I wasn’t sure if I’d be going strict Paleo another 30 days, or whether I would try to see how my stomach handled certain foods? Well, this weekend I totally caved. Starting Friday night I had really bad cravings. Not sure if it was because my little friend is coming soon, or what, but they were bad.
Saturday morning I REALLY wanted peanut butter. Like badly. Before my morning run, I decided to heat up mango chunks and top it with a tbsp of peanut butter. Instantly, my stomach started making funny noises. They weren’t good noises, and it was crazy how my body reacted to it right away. Such a bummer!
On Sunday morning, before my run, I went with an old pre-Paleo favorite. On weekends, I prefer morning workouts, and my go-to pre-workout meal would be greek yogurt topped with nut butter. So, I tried greek yogurt for the first time. Instead of peanut butter, I topped it with Paleo friendly sun butter. My stomach handled it pretty well, so I think on weekends I will try this snack before morning workouts. I’m more so happy about the greek yogurt not hurting my stomach than the peanut butter. Seriously missed the yogurt so much!
I think that once I start getting closer to my goals, then I will incorporate more of the 80/20 Paleo lifestyle, but for now, I plan on strict Paleo, except for greek yogurt on weekends!
I also need to lay off of the Paleo sweets for a bit since they’re not helping me at all! I felt pretty wonky and bodacious in the booty Sunday when I woke, which made me refocus on my goals. I’m thankful that my body can respond so quickly to changes and make me snap out of it before I derail.
That’s my personal rant. I’m tired. Jenny and I were in Boston last night from 5 until 1 am. I will talk more about why on Thursday’s post, because I want to have the time to actually write about it and not throw sentences together before I run right now before work!
