Welcome to one of the biggest weeks of my life. Tomorrow, FitGirl Clothing’s Kickstarter begins, which means my life is about to go full-speed ahead. I have had last minute marketing meetings this week, meaning not much time has been able to be spent on the blog, so I apologize for yesterday’s absence.
To fuel all of this excitement, I have been enjoying a few of my favorite meals and snacks, so for this rendition of What I Ate Wednesday, it’s dedicated to the food that has kept me sane in this crazy week!
Unwinding at the Keith Urban concert with bbq skewers.
Getting ready for a crazy week ahead with a Sunday bbq. Grilled kebobs, roasted sweet potatoes, and Applegate Farms hot dog. SO GOOD!
Last night we had a going away dinner for my Dad’s close friend at one of my local restaurant’s, The Tap House. I ordered grilled chicken with double the veggies (steamed, no butter). Those veggies stole the show. I had half of a piece of chicken and then demolished the veggies, so needless to say, I have a lot of chicken for leftovers!
My favorite afternoon snack. A Joseph’s pita pocket — the nutrition facts are SO good on here macro-wise, with some pb in there. The trick is to spread the pb on one side of the pita — do not open it up — and then fold it in half. So thick and creamy!
And my dessert that I literally eat in bed while reading… Quest Bar, the oreo version. Last week I bought 3 boxes for the price of 2 at GNC because I found that if I have a somewhat healthy treat at night, and look forward to it during the day, I do really well during the day with my food and don’t feel the need to binge on sweets and junk food.
You have to do what works for you! Some don’t have an issue with treats, but sometimes, okay all the time, I feel that “oh, I do so good during the day and stay on point, so let me treat myself.” NO. I feel it’s important to listen to your body and eat the way that you can stick to a game plan without going crazy. For me, it’s Quest Bars at night.
How do you handle the demons to binge eat or eat unhealthy at night?
